Trans ladies, why do you like anime so much?

i only just started getting into it a few months ago and now ive watched a few series. i enjoy them for the same reason i enjoy the movies i like. its just another medium for storytelling except it being fully animated makes it really good at conveying fictional and fantastical worlds which i think is pretty cool. i also just enjoy the art a lot, not the generic kind of anime art but there are a lot of unique gems with amazing art styles

this is probably the biggest thing for me too. a simple anime with a unique art style can take a story and make it feel 100x more fresh and engaging than the same story in live action, where you have to deal with watching iffy acting and all sorts of logistical constraints.

i also think anime just tends to be more creative considering how many series start out as just one or two people drawing/writing something and it just happening to get popular. similar to early comic books, it just has more interesting ideas than big screenplays with multiple writers etc.

haibane renmei, girls last tour, kinos journey, lament of the lamb, takopis original sin and the summer hikaru died are all great, i cant really choose a few favorites but these come to mind when i think of ones that stood out to me

I have watched like 3 anime from start to finish when I was 15, and I dropped another 3 or so... I didn't really keep count... I don't really like anime so I feel like a bit of an odd one, I'd like to know too.
