Does anyone here see a gender therapist or LGBT friendly therapist? Did it help you? Would you recommend that someone see one?I am going insane and nothing is helping me.
I've been seeing a therapist who is trans-friendly and it's really helped me so far. Just having someone who you can vent to and who is equipped to listen to you already goes a long way. Also, I'm pretty sure they can prescribe you antidepressive medication so that also helps.

I ended up running into one that went against protocol to help me troon because the hospital I went to a conservative hospital that didn't fw trannies because it was the only decent one in my area.Fucking love the guy.

>>43976494i saw a 'gender therapist' or whatever but it was useless, i know what i am and what i want/need(also she was blind which made it so awkwardly funny because i was dysphoric over my appearance and she couldn't see me kek)generally don't expect counsellors or therapists to understand transness or whatever, they'll upset you with the most inane shit out of nowhere, your experience and understanding of it will be your own to bear, when they inject theirs into the mix it just damages therapeutic rapport, if they're smart they'll avoid addressing it directly and let you lead the convo, but it only takes one slip to fuck it all up
