If you're familiar with the history of left-wing movements in the US you might know about how the glowies destroyed the SDS from within not by taking over the org directly but by elevating the most deranged and proto-woke cranks that were already there, and many people suspect something similar happened with Occupy. Its an effective tactic, why wouldn't they do something similar as part of their attack on trans people?You also have to keep in mind that while most of the anti-trans hatred gets directed towards trans women, a lot of that hate is because we get blamed for shit pushed by the "nonbinary" crowd.
