Fem gay men are uniformly painted as undesirable and predators outside gay niche contexts.

the danger of flamers is that we act too girly for the standard messaging of "all males can enjoy being masculine and marrying women" to be true, and this could encourage even bisexual, more masculine males to embrace their own femininity, which could mean straying away from their protector/financial guardian role towards females

There is a legal framework ("for the children" laws aimed at LGBT people, reclassifying certain kinds of minority as terrorism, judicial arguments to reverse civil rights laws), a physical framework (detention centers, fake health orgs in support of conversion therapy, etc), and a psychological framework (getting used to genocidal language and rollbacks of civil rights, buying into smear campaigns and disinfo) that we are allowing to be built right under our noses.

It's foolish and ahistorical to think that once built, it will never be used on you. Some of these things were constructed for the war on terrorism or earlier and are now coming home. This is a cancer that's been growing for a long time. I really, really hope you come to see this as an issue of your own survival.

Protest, call your local and state representatives (even Republicans) and tell them you are a constituent and you hate this shit, canvas or phone bank for candidates who are good or at least more likely to be decent, donate or volunteer for organizations that are supporting groups who currently are getting it worse than you (legal orgs, food banks, hotlines/tiplines, independent journalists). Correct people in your life who are repeating misinformation. Do not publicly express support for targeting of minorities or further building of the kind of genocidal architecture I mentioned.
