People are fucking stupid. Same shit as all these sigma male characters that are relatable to teenage boys and young men. People seem to ignore that Jax is a warning. What happens when you isolate yourself from others and never let your sincere emotions be seen. A piece of shit that shouldn't be a role model to anyone. Some people excuse the fact that Jax is a dickhead because they find certain things about him relatable. Others may know that Jax is a bad person but they don't fully realise that the show is condemning him for it. They point at the fact that TADC creator, Gooseworx liked to work on him and related to Jax in some ways and immediately got upset at her because they thought that she endorses Jax's behaviour. It's really dumb.
The only thing that I personally could relate to in Jax's story is the often painful struggle of being trans and also the fear of becoming a laughing stock. His personality is not charming.
Also I'm still not fully sure which pronouns to use. The digital Jax was for sure a repper but the IRL Jax didn't seem to have fully transitioned either.

The show concluded with Jax losing her mind and undergoing a digital lobotomy. It's a cautionary tale about not letting internalised shame run so rampant that it'll destroy who you are and hurt those you love in the process. It also shows that those who push away love and kindness are those that need it the most. The show doesn't enable awful behaviour, it doesn't endorse being a piece of shit just by showing that behaving like one usually is rooted in awful experiences.

If you want to blame anything, blame lack of media literacy and people's drive to put anything into neat and easy to digest categories for social media approval.

Obviously not everyone here is a bad person, that should be implied. Like any place there's a large variety of colorful characters on all ends of the spectrum. But there are a lot of problematic people on this board more than a lot of other places, and these people tend to echo chamber their misery making everyone even worse. I know a lot of people are unhappy that the show started with the mystery and ended with therapy instead of resolving the original thing that drew people in.
