the homo sovieticus of today is selectively nostalgic. they want the strong arm of communism, but with free internet and capitalist korean phones.
they shout against "degeneracy" but they also agree that traps are not gay. it's quite fun to observe, unironically.
also, I would differentiate a bit by country too. the homo sovieticus in poland (and these days in ukraine too) is very different from the one in chelyabinsk or some other russian shithole. and the homo sovieticus in serbia now does SRS lol.
