The process was pretty easy actually. I just needed a dr letter and a shrinks letter and i needed to go to superior court and fill a bunch of paperwork out and get a court date. They didn't even make me take an ad out in the paper like I guess they used to make people do. It just took a few weeks. Then I needed to show up in girlmode and they had to "call my dead name once" which was embarassing because i wore a stupid frilly as fuck dress and then have me wait for the judge to sign it, I didn't even have to see the judge and then an hour later they called me up to the counter by my new name, some old hon who was eyeballing me clapped, the whole room was filled with trannies in various stages of transition, I asked and the court made a thing of it all on one day a month to streamline it, I guess liberal judges aren't so bad if they're not letting out violent offenders and just doing this kind of work. There was another girl my age at the time doing it too we looked at eachother and smiled. My mom took me right out to a beautiful lunch in San Juan Capistrano and then that night my bf hired and Uber black to take us to the club and have champagne to celebrate my womanhood, you gotta make the most out of milestones
