Why do you guys keep doing this? I try to be a good ally that was taught 'oh they have female brain stuck in a male body' or whatever but it's getting hard to believe when every time I see or interact with someone trans it is the same pattern:>trans woman>hobbies include programming>military>most competitive video games you can think of>anime for male otaku>porn>trans man >cannot live without musical theater>does sewing and baking >into makeup for some reason>otome & shoujo shit>it's muh socializationI don't buy it, boys that later grew up into feminine gay men got bullied by everybody and they still crawled back to play Barbies with us.On the other side you couldn't pay me and like 95% of other cis women to get interested in programming and you know they are trying hard. Sure there are outliers, tomboys, etc but there is no reason for there to be more trans men than trans women in fucking doll collecting of all hobbies. So why? Why not looking like the gender you want gives you life threatening dysphoria but having nothing in common with others of that gender is somehow okay and gives 0 dysphoria?
That’s not true at all
>>44034753It is partly socialization. Remember that you're operating through survivorship bias.
>>44034753I don't think it's 95% at all, but you have to remember that the hobbies and interests are largely determined when you're a child. If you spend more time with your dad, have brothers or the neighbor kids are boys, you're more likely to develop male interestsThen as a kid being born amab, they're more likely to be put around other amabs more often, leading to developing those hobbiesThe difference for most that have stereotypical interests like cooking, sewing, baking, theatre are more likely to have either spent more time with their mothers/sisters/etc or to have a more open and inclusive environment growing up allowing them to choose hobbies and interests irrespective of their sex
i spin yarn by hand, knit, and crochet as well. t. manmoder
>>44034811It's also just sometimes people are literally forced into situations. Growing up I had a mix of hobbies between cooking, musical theater, games, singing, etc.But as I got older I was quite literally forced out of more explicitly feminine issues (sewing) and into masculine ones (was literally forced to play football). Was reinforced in basically every area of my life. Couldn't be a fag at home and couldn't be a fag at school because private religious nonsense.
>>44034753dont think its a stretch to say that you're probably gonna end up with computer-related interests if your parents get you videogames as a kid because "that's what boys like"
>>44034834it's not the 80s anymore, every cis girl including me had a computer and most played some video games as a kid. Those were still very different from video games most boys liked and even thousands of hours in sims 2 didn't translate into any computer-related interests. Seriously, no idea why people still have the idea that late millenial/gen z girls got discouraged from 'masculine' hobbies, when we have like 40 years of tomboy supremacy in all media, acceptance of shitting on any feminine interests, and everyone from parents to government trying to get us into STEM.
>>44034908It's cultural inertia tbhon and just as much pressure from peers as parents. It was my older "brother" who got me into "masculine games," for instance.
>>44034811>If you spend more time with your dad, have brothers or the neighbor kids are boys, you're more likely to develop male interestsyeah, if you are a typical masculine boy. If you are not you get bullied and run to play with girls: which is an almost universal experience of feminine gay men I've met.
>>44034969Only if you're not in a shithole that calls you insane for doing that. Had a teacher do that to me when I was 8 :)
>>44034969Almost everyone around me was super masculine, lived around nothing but guys, lived next to a marine, they'd have boxing fights in the yardHated it, kept being pushed to spend time with them, when I was younger I was friends with girls a bit, but couldn't keep them and also panicked when they said smth about putting makeup on me so i leftSister got friends and then stopped being around so went from neuter/slightly female socialization to no socialization then more male as a teen in that regard before going to none and trooning outEveryone's got complicated circumstances, trannies usually panic more than gay guys do as kids desu and reject socialization instead of leaning to being around girls
>>44034908> Seriously, no idea why people still have the idea that late millenial/gen z girls got discouraged from 'masculine' hobbiesBecause they were; are you retarded? Most people didn’t grow up in hyper liberal coastal cities.
>>44034753being male/autism brained is most of the reason i like trannies at all
>>44035005Remember that the average person on this board struggled in high school
>>44034977I'm from eastern europe idk what to tell youFrom my experience there is almost no power to force a kid to be interested in something that doesn't speak to them. sure they can pretend but will drop it as soon as parents/peers stop looking.
>>44034753I’ve never met a trans man like you describe irl. They’re all programmer spergs or tradies.
tgirls having male hobbies is why i like them
>>44035012Rigid neurotic rules follower thanks to early childhood abuse + threats of expulsion do that.
>>44034908>every cis girl including me had a computer and most played some video games as a kid.have you come to terms with your AAP and desire to be a male yet?
>>44034753hobbies are gender neutral and anyone can enjoy anything but you usually get attached to things from your childhood when your parents still control your gender presentation
>>44035043Hobbies are absolutely *not* gender neutral I got the shit kicked out of me for mine.
>>44035032for sure, loved my boy games
>>44035024>early childhood abuse + threats of expulsionthat's every kids childhood here
>>44035083Uh, no, not exactly. Most people here didn't go to a religious school for most of their childhood. That comes with its whole host of brainworms. Usually people have more freedom at school than at home, and that was the opposite for me.
>>44034753am I malebrained (MTF)?hobbies:>readingpolitical philosophy, poetry, classics, history, romance novels>sewingI'm not very good at it, but I like itI like to watch those YouTube channels which show off how people used to dress in what period>fashionI haven't socially transitioned so this is pretty limited, but I'm conscious of how I dress>languagesprobably my favorite hobby. I'm learning a third language now and it's been pretty fun so far>video gamesI don't really play them anymore, but I used to play text-based roleplaying games when they were a thing and EU4, as well as a few RPG games. I don't play competitive games>animeI don't watch anime at all. I think it's very immature and childish, but some are drawn pretty wellin school I was good at:>history>English>geographyand I was okay at>biologyI was extremely bad at>math (barely passed my classes)>the sciences (physics, chemistry)>physical education. fuck that. I still have trauma from itI like pretty much all styles of music, but the lyrics are probably the most important part to me of music>pornnope. I prefer written erotic texts
>>44034753You say it like women don't also have "male" hobbies or like trannies don't have girly hobbies as well. You should see my plant collection. Also, the whole women can't do x activity, is low-key misogyny
>>44035012>how come all X are Y?>because Z>oh well Z doesn't exist where i'm from, so you who live on the other side of the planet are definitely just wrong and have a skill issuenonny.....
>>44035106no, you pass as the 5%
>>44035138the 5% of what?
>>44035064the more you deny it the more it's going to hurt when you can no longer stand to live with yourself
>>44034753i'm agp, my sexual body identity wants me to be in a female body even though i'm otherwise masculine
Wish I was fembrained desufeel male brained or nothing, like I have almost no hobbies or interests at all, the few I have are male and my personality reads male
>>44034753I love it when people attempt to classify dysphoria as some sort of moral failing, but in doing so actually attack the very concept of gender. The same points you're bringing up can be used to support the fact that gender is a social construct, which means that the gender-characteristic of a hobby is a social construct too. If we were free to construct gender, we're also free to reconstruct it, independently of whether you like it or not.
>>44034824wouldn't you then want to return to some of those more feminine hobbies post transition?
>>44035228I never abandoned cooking and only quit musical theater because it felt like it was driving me insane. Honestly I just don't have many hobbies anymore. Just really burnt out and getting really sick didn't help.
>>44034753>woman is being retarded and cosumercore bc daddy bezos says sosays the female chud, lmao
>>44035228also singing as a hobby is hard to do comfortably when you're a tranny baritone and singing was literally part of how I reppedLike when getting dysphoric I would ground myself in being male by singing to myself.
>>44035121>Also, the whole women can't do x activity, is low-key misogynythey can, they just don't want to, it doesn't interest them.Same reason nothing is really stopping cis men from watching ballet in the comfort of their own room (no peer bullying here) but majority never will: because they don't want to and it doesn't interest them.We can pretend what interests us is gender neutral but then you go into the real world and realize it is absolutely very gendered, even for interests with 0% interaction and peer pressure from others.
>>44035146as opposed to the other 95% in the title
>>44034753I assume trans people have a lot of mixed hobbies just due to prior exposure>>44035013They could've at least said the art furry stereotype. It sounds more like op described nonbinary people.
>>44035284I think you underestimate just how much peer bullying and pressures turn people into their own little panopticons.
>>44035032Genuinely retarded AGP-ass response
>>44035339you would know, nonnie
>>44035292oh okay I didn't read the thread really
>>44035302>I assume trans people have a lot of mixed hobbiesI assumed so too and then I started interacting with more trans people
>>44034753I'm a man doing chemical cosplay.
Are my hobbies fem or malebrained?Drawing, gaming, reading, walking, history & philosophy shit, a bit of weeb shit ( visual novels mainly)
I don't really have hobbies i only like studying my physics and chemistry Other than that I read litfic watch TV shows and stuff
>>44035922>walking>hobbyterminally USAbrained
>>44034753AGP for troons and fujo for pooners. That's it.
>>44036131It's weird to call it a hobby but if you walk in the forest for fun it kinda is right?>t. francoswede
>>44034753>pornagp :p
>>44036131No i walk for hours with no particular goal instead of bussing
>>44035284I promise you there's an extreme amount of peer pressure to behave a certain way and what activities are acceptable for each gender. People regularly don't participate in things for risk of ostracization or ridicule from their peers. Did you not interact with people growing up? I watched it happen regularly to both sexes. Eventually most people conform and perpetuate the same behavior. No one knows why but you just can't do that thing or else you're gay and being gay is bad
>>44034753>I don't buy itWell, unfortunately that's all we have in stock. All we'll EVER have in stock so go away.
i am mtf and of the interests you list;>most competitive video games you can think of>anime for male otaku>cannot live without musical theater>does sewing and baking>into makeup >shoujo shitas well as a bunch of other interests you could no doubt call male or female. the reality is that most people are complex and multifaceted and it blunts human experience to imagine some things as going against your fundamental nature, because your fundamental nature is to enjoy whatever you happen to enjoythere is something so unauthentic and lame and unattractive about people who restrict themselves in the way that some people will feel pressured to after reading OP
>>44036433Sometimes i think I'm too French because I don't think that's really a thing where I'm from lol
>>44036098welladjustedbrain
>>44037022Well I would agree but i am posting here so idk if i can affirm lol
>>44034753I have a mix of both. My only hobbies growing up were watercolor painting and gymnastics and i love baking but I also have over 4000 hours on rust.
>>44037039heh. i guess brainworms got to you or something?
>>44037081Let's just say I used to be very mentally ill due to a variety of reasons (being a tranny, abuse, sa...) but I manage today to do something of my life despite it allAnd yeah, brainworms!
>>44034753I'm mtf and I don't like competitive games aside from deadlock and pokemon.Anime for male otaku make me want to vomit.I love cooking and baking.I like BL and otome games and reading in general.Aren't those just the hobbies of the average fujoshi?
>>44037104thats pretty impressive, ive not got much trauma but im not doing all that much at the moment.
>>44034753because they were raised as boys/girls
>>44037142Took me years of druggie (smoked weed partly to remedy chronic pain but that was stupid) neetdom being loved and taken care of by my partner before i managed to collect myself. So don't worry take your time. It's your life do the best you can with it but make sure to be healthy mentally first and foremost :)
>>44037117pokemonlol grow up nigga
>>44035302>It sounds more like op described nonbinary people.0 days of ftms not catching strays from they/them nonsense
>>44037165I will never grow up.
>>44035221Yeah, only sex matters.
>>44034753>Why do transsexuals do behaviours that please them instead of behaviours that I consider appropriate for the sex they’ve transitioned to?Have you tried not being sexist?
>>44034785I never liked the things that went with my birth sex. I played with the same toys as my sisters. My socialization was the same as theirs
I don't think you're correct on all of them, but because hobbies are good and it's easier to get into them if you grow up being able to do them without being bullied and shamed, or even encouraged to. Trans people's interests just look like what cis people would if they didn't get the same gendered upbringing.I think there's a similar effect on sexuality, which is why we tend to admit to same gender attraction more than cis people. That and some element of "fuck it, im already trans."
>>44039542>survivorship bias
you know why they're called interests? It's because they're INTERESTING. an enthusiastic expert in LITERALLY ANY SUBJECT could get you to also have an interest in that thing. trans women have male hobbies because they were socialized as men and trans men have female hobbies because they were socialized as women. you don't stop liking the things you like because you make a change in your life, you just add new interests on top of the old onestransphobes are so fucking stupid and brainless, they literally have no capacity whatsoever to think about literally anything. they cannot even comprehend basic human existence that has nothing to do with being trans
>>44039771 how so? can you explain it
>>44039866The trannies people notice are the ones that stick out hobbywise. That and the trannies that weren't heavily punished for non-conformity growing up are more likely to pass and go stealth because they're more likely to be youngshits or midshits.
>>44039542nta but both groups described by op should count as nonbinary
that's only true for AGPs tho. HSTSs have fembrained interests.
