It's difficult to say without saying "default". It's pressure, it's expectations upon your actions and personality, it's a sort of competition you have to constantly play, like a social ladder game you have to constantly struggle to climb. You have to be dominant sexually or you are putting yourself at risk of humiliation.

It's also opportunity and gives you the "no one loves you unless you make something of yourself" drive which unfortunately I don't have at all but in theory is useful. But I haven't taken any of this opportunity. I've never felt very manly, and that when I was younger especially caused me a lot of anxiety I felt like I was a failure and was behind my peers.
