Because the cringiest aspects of 4chan have always been its memes divorced from the context of its board culture. They're only funny here because they only have any meaning here.
What made 4chan good has always been its anonymous community aspect which used to produce novel discussions, not that it's le brainworm tranny forum or le elite hacker forum or le epic alt-right pepe forum. The site has notably declined in the past decade because the sort of retards who view this place in such reductive terms and are more interested in having some kind of fandom identity in relation to it have taken over and remade it in their image.
