I'll tell you how he's written so far and what he does. At the start of the story hes very fem and regularly says really odd stuff that insinuates him being female as an unfair advantage. This is kinda reinforced by the story to some extent because hes a serial killer, and people don't really suspect him because he just seems like another bimbo sorority girl. However, if he views being female as an advantage, it would be difficult to write in a gender transition later on, which I need him to undertake for the plot to progress.I was thinking of giving him some general body dysmorphia, like maybe he becomes anorexic/bulimic and that's really just him not seeing his gender dysphoria for what it is? He's also a psychopath, which stems from his need for control over himself, his life, and the need to play god... idk, help me out here. The story is set in the late 60s so it's not like he can go on reddit and figure this out

Like as the story progresses he starts looking more and more like a 15 year old boy until he gets recruited by the government at the end and the guy recruiting him asks "so do you have any special things you want before disappearing" and hes like "yea gimme a sex change". it shouldn't seem forced

>>44067601being male has its advantages too, as a man you can essentially become transparent, you're allowed to go where you want when you want and without suspicion while women generally attract and audience, especially at night. other men generally share comradery too or you could flip it where he realizes that while being a woman has an advantage of attention being a man has the advantage of independence and strength, theres also an advantage of 'tricking' people when trans that might be exhilarating for a psychopath. you can have him see benefit of being a woman while also showing how those benefits are somewhat degrading, to take advantage of being a woman you need to mooch off of others, its never independent. maybe you can write how inherently filthy female benefits are.
