Now that the I Saw the TV Glow shill has been banned for larping as a 17 year old, we can discuss the good content.
>>44071168heard that I saw the tv glow is pretty good
>>44071189You heard wrong. It's 100% pure stale garbage water that's been digitized and sold to morons who have no idea what a film is supposed to be.Watch Emilia Perez or Euphoria season 1 instead.
>>44071189Saw my dad watching it the other day and later that night heard him sobbing and shouting why why and saying "I wish I had done it back then it's too late now".
>>44071357You mean your mom?
>>44071357tell him old troons can pass when they get wrinkly. wendy carlos over here started in her 40s i think.
>>44071357You should have sex with your dad.
>>44071357you should have long, intimate, philosophical conversations with your father, and not sexual relations at all.
Why is it that I shat the TV gay and that dumb cartoon the only trans content that anyone watches? YukkoEX is better than that shit.
>>44071168I want F1nn5ter to do a watchstream of this given that they're both from the midlands. And he should meet Paris Lees and make a vid about that too.
>>44071239>Watch Emilia PerezI watched that shit and it was fucking ass save for the "penis to vaginaaaa" song.
>>44071481You're wrong. It was a fantastic exploration of the difficulties in reconciling male socialization with female identity and the tragic consequences of thinking you don't have to acknowledge your own past as a man. It's flaw as a movie is that it was two movies mashed together, the first is the story of Emilia/Manitas who had succeeded in her desperate attempt to escape her life as a man, using the tools that life had taught her, only to get dragged back into her own tragedy because she could never truly escape. The second was the story of Rita a female lawyer who felt unappreciated because of her gender who saw a short cut to the life she felt she deserved, only to pay a severe consequence for that shortcut as she remained locked into Manitas orbit even long after Manitas had seemingly ceased to exist. Both of these stories in their own right are good, but mashing them together in the way that they did, while also trying to tell a tragic story to an audience that was not expecting it due to American politics prohibiting casting a trans woman as anything other than a victim of society, meant the stories it was trying to tell confused each other and wound up lacking any impact with the audience, certainly the American audience.
>>44071239lmao
>>44071481Also the only thing worth than the Scorsese's of hollywood who spent so much of their careers enforcing a system of "dues" to gatekeep younger film makers out of the business, only to grow far too old to carry the business in the absense of experienced millenials to replace them, are the sycophants who pretend that a filmmaker who peaked in 1990 complaining about the system he created not catering exclusively to his tastes while the content he complains about are the only thing keeping that system on life support, has any authority to speak on any subject at all. Scorsese's take on Marvel is the reason Speilberg keeps getting budgets and Kathleen Kennedy got put in charge of Star Wars. The way it should be interepreted by people who actually enjoy cinema, instead of just enjoying flaunting their supposed taste on the internet, is as an argument for euthanizing the boomers at their own expense.
>>44071239oh the thread was made by a kike
>>44071613I'm roman catholic.
>>44071555Recounting what it tried to make doesn't make it good, retard. That movie was garbage because it was more tone deaf than an actual deaf person, mixing up pretty serious shit with fucking musical numbers. It also had some dogshit acting, specially from the trans actress who was awful 80% of the time. On top of all of that, it was made by a pretentious french fuck who never took any of the valid criticism seriously, and is rightfully hated by the mexican people, including mexican trans people, of which one of them made a parody of the movie. What a fucking mess of a movie. If you want some actual latinamerican kino about gender issues you could watch XXY (argentinian movie about a intersex kid) or "una mujer fantástica" (chilean movie about a trans woman).
>>44071721>mexicans on twitter didn't like it therefore it's badLet's be clear, what the mexican audience had a problem with was Selena Gomez trying to speak mexican. I'm not telling you what it tried to do as you try to steal my arguments against I sharted on the Glowing TV from the other thread, I'm telling you what it DID. Meanwhile you've gone from pretending the memesong was it's only redeeming feature to complaining that it was a musical at all. In reality your ability to critically understand text is so lacking that you've got no idea what you didn't like this movie other than you feel like you're not supposed to. The list of genuine trans stories can be counted off on one hand, and only one of them (Euphoria season 1) was actually made by hollywood. Like I said, the actual problem with the movie was it didn't live up to audience expectations of what it was supposed to be. It was supposed to be some farcical take on trans politics in the age of Trump, it doesn't matter what it actually was, it wasn't that. Therefore the audience which watched it entirely through that lens was unable to focus on what it actually was. I remember watching Nerdrotic's review of it, and the one time the avowed trumpoid DIDN'T misgender a trans woman was so he could completely delineate Manitas from Emilia in order to completely misunderstand the movie. They're the same person. The irony being that this is the only movie that's failed to impress a global audience because it WASN'T woke when the audience expected it to be. And this rule applies to all trans stories btw. You either tell the story true, which means you're telling a complex tragedy, or you fuck it up completely and get toileted because video rental isn't even a thing any more.
>>44071821>Let's be clear, what the mexican audience had a problem with was Selena Gomez trying to speak mexican.I'm latinamerican and know perfectly well what the problem was, and the whole Selena Gomez was just the tip of the iceberg of what the mexicans found offensive about that pile of garbage. And no, I'm a "no sabo espaniol" kid, I'm actually born and raised in this shithole and still living here.
>>44072012Didn't ask. My point remains standing, you can't actually articulate what you don't like about this movie beyond appeals to twitter mexicans, because you still haven't actually seen it. All you've seen is what it wasn't.
>>44071168superjail was my awakening
