But the idea of Ralsei having a trans arc being foreshadowed by, Ralsei liking "girly things"? Should I believe Susie has been foreshadowed to be a trans man because Susie likes explosions and monster trucks and whatever?I always thought UTDR was way above such a reductive understanding of gender and personal interests.Yet it does feel like ch5 hints to Ralsei transitioning. They're really excited to dress up as a princess in the climbing minigame and only catch themself at the end to do their "umm, as long as other people want me to haha" shtick, like clearly they got carried away actually enjoying it. Their Title in ch5 is "Artemisia" which is historically a feminine plant used for women's medicine and Artemis is the goddess of, among other things, "transitions". Then when Ralsei's title changed to "Dark Vine" it uses they/them pronouns, whereas in previous chapters he/him pronouns were used in the Ralsei titles that had pronouns. And of course there's Ralsei wanting the "blue and pink" drink. Yes Ralsei loves Kris, and Kris's dark world coloring is blue and pink, but there's no way they didn't also realize the trans coding when writing that scene. And besides the other option for Ralsei in the scene, yellow and green, are also Kris colors.
