For thickness you can always consider a textured cut. For frizziness, you'll need to try out different conditioners and leave ins to see what works, and maybe try a hair oil or a gel. Don't get suckered by expensive brands either, there are plenty of drugstore options that work perfectly well. And as has already been mentioned, wearing a bonnet to sleep will also help with frizziness, as will how you dry it.

Usually how I dry my hair is by air if I’m not going anywhere or a diffuser since I read online that’s good for my hair type. The problem with drug store stuff is it’s hard to find something without sulfates in it but I need to shop around more. Right now I’m trying the not your mothers leave in and it’s definitely not heavy enough for my frizz. Same with the OGX and their bottles are getting smaller and more expensive.

I have pretty similar thick wavy hair and I like the Garnier Fructis curls line, especially the conditioner/hair mask tub. So maybe give that a go if you haven't already. I use it as both conditioner and leave in, and then have a seperate curl cream as well. I believe the whole line is sulfate free.
Also I meant layered not textured cut. Just ask your hairdresser about what you can do to make it less thick.
