Im sick of just wallowing in my own sadness and want to cut myself or something to relieve a bit of this pain.Problem is that I have a really really shitty pain tolerance and cant handle sharp objects that well, any tips to mitigate that?Pic Unrel
>>44259470it doesnt actually hurt much especially styros and deeper
>>44259476Oh really? Tell me more if you can
these kinds of posts are difficult because you should not be cutting yourself and i do not want you to cut yourself but i legitimately have no other advice because nothing i have tried works like cutting does.if you have a low tolerance for pain, though, snapping an elastic against yourself or punching different parts of your body (you kind of really have to mean it, though. just be careful) could be effective and are much healthier. both will leave marks.
>>44259492thanks anon, unfortunately i sort of have a thing for punching and like i dont want to be horny and depressed, that's a really shitty combo
>>44259501do try an elastic, before cutting, then.and if you do have to cut, think REALLY hard about where you're doing it. the scars i have from when i first started cutting when i was younger are really inconvenient as an adult who needs to be an employed professional.people say that drawing on yourself can also help, as well as holding ice against yourself to the point of pain, but i found the rubber bands and punching to be better, even if they didn't work exactly like i wanted. you should try lots of different things, though. if you can find something (literally anything) that works for you which does not involve permanent scarring then you should do that.incidentally i haven't self-harmed (for mental pain, anyway) in a few months: remember that the pain is temporary. it WILL go away if you give it time. i've been bringing small stuffies and other comforting things around with me for a while and their presence has helped me, i think. that being said, my depression tends to come in waves and paroxysms, so maybe this is not so useful, if you are more permanently addled.anyways good luck nonny. i hope you feel better.
>>44259501I hope you find a good long term solution for your problems. Cutting is like cleaning the water that got in because of the damaged roof instead of fixing the roof itself. Easier said than done ofc, as i myself am not a entirely happy person. But I do hope that you at least curb the pain just enough to not have to cut anymore, i dont think anyone here wants to see you cut yourself.
>>44259470so you want to hurt yourself without feeling hurt? yeah you deserve to get hurt that's some retarded logic, go to the fucking pscyh ward and stop shitting in your own piss pool
>>44260891ok bro
>>44259470Try "cutting" with a red pen, draw some slashes on your arm/thigh/wherever. It's a good technique for coping with cutting urges, it fills a similar sensory niche of cold metal on skin that leaves a red trail behind. Can also hurt a little bit in it's own right, but try not to break the skin on purpose, ink in bloodstream is not good. Also don't worry about the marks, it washes off relatively easily.>>44259486They're lying to you, that shit hurts a fuckton. Ask me how I know.
>>44259476there's one little bit right where you're cutting into fat from styro that hurts like hell but otherwise yeah once you get into fat it hurts a lot lessI am trying to cut less after hitting muscle. I'm maybe a week sober on any cuts I consider "real" cuts (fat and deeper) and a day sober from styros.
I burn myself by heating up the end of a barbecue lighter then pressing it against my skin and by holding an open flame against my skin for a few seconds. Both of which usually cause second to third degree burns. I know the marks are permanent and there is a risk of infection or nerve damage but sometimes its the only way I can get any relief from the self hatred. Also is my method malebrained?
i feel like cutting but i really shouldnt
