Passing or not passing is not nearly as important as if you are attractive or not. Attractiveness is in my opinion one of the largest factors towards having successful human interactions, in a variety of metrics. Yes, this is me coping that things did not work out and blaming it on me not being attractive enough rather than my abhorrent personality.
