Accent? Not really. However, doing a different accent may require different glottal behaviours from you, and if your voice passes better doing an accent, then its those glottal behaviours most likely. If you can translate those glottal behaviours to your normal voice, sans accent, then you voice will start passing better without the accent.

Kinda? It makes sense. When I adopted an Appalachian accent in college my voice came off much deeper than my prior fagcent.
