general for posting voices and voice-training, whether trans or cis :) share your voice for feedback and ENGAGE WITH OTHER POSTERS(!!!!!!!!!)

People made a Discord server to help each other get better, go join it!: https://discord.gg/txVRxp2k5j

• REMINDER: IF YOU CANNOT GIVE TECHNICAL ADVICE, please at least say if someone voice passes or not to you, it does a lot to keep the gen alive and active

• Post clips of your voice training progress, discuss voice stuff, and give feedback to others. Together, we can end the voicehon epidemic.

• Benchmark (to be taken in vocaroo form): “The beige hue on the waters of the loch impressed all, including the French queen, before she heard that symphony again, just as young Arthur wanted.”

• The benchmark is an English phonetic pangram, containing allophones. That makes it one of the best ways to measure how your voice is developing over time.

>>
Pls review me:
https://voca.ro/1kPKbhTpWl2B
>>44300111
Idk how you do that screaming. You mostly pass I think, your speaking voice is a tiny bit clocky to me, screaming sounds male but I think that’s the point? Singing is impressive, I need to learn how to sing.
>>44301801
Are you gay? Not trying to be mean you just kinda have gayvoice. Thanks for the post.
>>
>>44301894
You definitely voice pass and sound really cute. The mic gives it a bit of a “online” voice quality

>>
>>44301924
Ty, lol I’m on my phone and didn’t realise it was using my Bluetooth headphones in my pocket as the mic. I can post a better one later when I’m not outside.
Tbqh I am basically a repper too at this point I think

guess letters for mine, still waking up :P

>>44301894
pass but you're really quiet kinda like me, do people ask what you said again often?

>>44301924
cute guy voice at the very least, also you're not a repper if people say u are, that's only if u know ur trans but ur just not transitioning
>>
>>44302040
B?
Also thank u. And yeah I’m self-identifying as a repper, I feel like I am.

b as in boy?
also u could just take the pills and not identify differently, that's totally okay, all effects are reversible within the first year
>>
>>44302161
B as in bi, but yes also boy?
>>
>>44302160
imo you pass and your accent makes me think as a kind older irish lady
>>
>>44302171
interesting, i am also scottish but i find my own accent a bit odd, especially when voice training
>>
>>44302167
ohh lol my bad, yes I'm bi and I'm a gay boy mtf basically, though everyone thinks I'm a lady
>>
>>44302160
Passes to me during the first half but it may be the accent disguising trannyaccent. At the very end the resonance darkens a little bit and it sounds more male.
>>44302040
Sounds male but kinda effeminate and gay?
>>
>>44302408
>Sounds male but kinda effeminate and gay?
yayyy you got it :)
>>
>>44302160
sounds kinda strange in isolation because of how it sits in your throat, like you're most of the way there but if it was brighter it would be good... probably pass to normies if you look like a lady though
>>

hi! you have a very smooth voice.

>>44301894
pass, no notes. you are super muffled though! as long as a clearer recording doesn't bring out anything attention-grabbing I think you're there

>>44302040
tgirl?
sounds like you might have been practicing moving your voice forward but left your pitch unmoved for now, which is a fine way to start
I would focus on smooth, flowy, musical enunciation first

voice passes, a little clocky to me but only cuz I've known so many trannies personally and I'm just super aware of certain things about people... I don't mean to clock them though!! xwx
>I would focus on smooth, flowy, musical enunciation first
not sure if I could consistently do that, I'm pretty autistic and I tend to think things in a disjointed way or pause to think mid-sentence lots of times
>>
>>44302750
just say pass or no pass if that's all you feel comfy saying, it's fine
I can't repeat enough that I think the best that you drop almost all effort at raising your pitch for now
with what little skill I have as a voice coach, it sounds like it takes a lot of physical effort that might be taking away from the total effort you can engage on other parts of your voice
you'll also fine your range of vocal motion is higher if you're not straining to raise your pitch
here's a demonstration of a few things: https://vocaroo.com/1nUXS6JdVjmA
>>
>>44302771
thanks. what makes it clocky?
>>
>>44302862
unexplainable but feels like trans girl voice? but again to most people you'll sound like a woman
>>
>>44302862
NTA, I’m >>44301894, I think that it is a pass for normies but for trannies and some others it doesn’t. I think you don’t vary your pitch enough while speaking which makes it kinda monotone. You still have a very nice flow to your speech so if you can get more pitch variance in it should pass better. Also /maybe/ look into open quotient stuff, it has been a long time since I have but I think you have kinda closed quotient which can be clocky.
>>
>>44302853
>https://vocaroo.com/1nUXS6JdVjmA
thanks for taking the time to record that even if i don't fully understand it
>>
>>44302750
Get good enough with where you are to where you can do it for like an hour straight without thinking about it much then work on improving it. It’s really hard to improve to a perfect voice all at once and that is good enough that training yourself to do it instinctively will help you not hurt you.

sorry meant to add this

>>44302900
okay well thanks anyway

>>44302969
open/closed quotient is useful terminology, thanks
so you feel pitch variance is the main issue? honestly I think I can live with it if my quiet voice in my bedroom/relaxed in my home is a little monotone, or just work on it passively as I continue transitioning

its good
you generally do sound like a woman especially around the 50 second mark where you get a bit quieter
you do tend to kind of drift back into having this kind of nasally voice though, might be kind of a resonance thing, and i think your pitch is good
when you have your moments you sound incredibly cis though
>>44312883
its pretty adrogynous but not super in a tranny way if you get what i mean
if you bring up that resonance a bit itd be fine if a bit masculine
>>
I'm not great at using the right terminology, but I'll try my best to describe what i hear, apologies in advance. Please take my opinions only as consideration and not as advice, because I don't really know what I'm doing

>>44315764
It sounds quite nasally, like if you're intentionally speaking in a clipped, nasally tone, so it sounds a little odd to me

>>44309484
Someone else mentioned that your voice is clocky but imo it's only a little dark resonance wise when you dip lower. I love your laughs though, it's super cute!

>>44312883
You sound like an European butch woman to me from your pitch, if that's what you're going for

And my own vocaroo for any opinions or advice. The first take is closer to my relaxed speaking voice. In the second take, I'm intentionally trying to raise my resonance and have more open quotient from the tips of the google doc.

its definitely a feminine tone but it sounds kinda nasally? like i would read this as a female voice but it doesnt sound natural

>spending 1k on voice lessons
Grim, I’m not an expert but I got to a point a lot of people say passes (doesn’t to me but whatever) for free. You are too nasally. What are you trying to do over your base voice? Did you start with solely working on resonance by moving your adams apple upwards before changing pitch?

I think i am probably a nasally person to begin with.

Ngl im kinda retarded, i struggle to put how i try to change my voice into words but i think that yeah mostly the main two things i did were exercises to raise resonance from the chest to the mouth and then move up pitch.

There were definitely other things im probanly meant to do but i do not remember them because as previously stated im an idiot
>>
>>44331452
This is me trying to sound less nasally i guess?

>>44338997
I’ll look at it later that is better. Are you using falsetto? It kinda sounds like it. If you are lower your pitch until you aren’t in falsetto and try focusing on resonance only at first. Can you post like your base day to day voice then just raising your larynx to raise the resonance of it as you talk?

>>44321091
Thanks for rating my voice nona, I didn't think my speaking voice was fem at all desu, since the resonance isn't great imo.
This is just my opinion, but I feel like the first half of your clip was clocky fem, maybe it was the buzzy quality? I like your voice after the benchmark more. It sounds more naturally fem even though the pitch is slightly lower. Hopefully someone else will have more useful feedback for you.
