They love inserting useless and costly middlemen, denying as many claims as they conceivably can (even when it's not allowed under their own rules), and making drugs insanely expensive just by changing a formulation very very slightly. Most doctors, and most American citizens want reform, but the insurance people donate massively to politicians in both parties, so...

Not to mention living here means access to some of the best doctors and hospitals. FFS costed me a total of 2k after copays when I had Kaiser, and almost all of that was just anesthesia costs since the clinic outsourced that and it was out of network. I hope in the next decade after fascism inevitably implodes on itself we get turbo tranny medical socialism nationwide
