yeah it would be disingenuous if I changed my views just because I like her, she probably wouldn't like that either. she has really managed to remove most of my distaste for trans people though. /pol/ and all the other media's say they're mentally ill and gross but shes been a regular nice person to me which made me realize most of that might be false. I dont know yet, I want to try meeting more trans people to really get the full picture but at least for her I dont feel any transphobia.

Fundamentally, you have to be certain about SOMETHING in life. Even the act of holding to your principle, that one should try to maximize uncertainty, requires certainty. To condemn yourself for being too gullible in the past is self-defeating, because then you have to distrust your own judgement of condemnation now. There's no particular reason you'd suddenly be objectively correct now.

The fact is that it's okay to be wrong due to having been devieved, even if it hurts yourself and other people. If it weren't okay, then it's not okay for you to believe anything currently.
