i think the important thing is to have an actual life outside being trans that you pour most of your energy into and then your queerness is just who you are and not your entire personality. when you try to pass instead it takes so much effort that it absorbs energy that can be put into other things in life and also makes you more conforming which is unattractive to people who desire authenticity
