You even get to use expensive washing tabs. But the fun has only just started, now, you HAVE to wait for it to be ready and take it out at that exact time or the dishwasher will start stinking. So instead of getting something done quick and easy, lets get some goyastic TECHNOLOGY!! Dishwashers work significantly better if used properly. They also use way less water and electricity than hand washing dishes.Here are some tips to get the best results.1. Don't overload. Space out the dishes. Better to run twice with fewer dishes than to have to rewash.2. Use the prewash. Dishwashers recirculate water. The prewash gets rid of the big gunk so the main wash water is less gross.3. Use detergent for the prewash. This is often missed if you just pop a detergent pod in the dispenser.4. Run tap hot before each wash. Your dishwasher is usually connected to the sink hot water line. Hot water cools if it stands in the line. That's why the sink takes some time to get hot. By running the sink hot you flush the cool water out of the hot water line which would otherwise go to the dishwasher. Nonas in Europe can ignore this one because they're blessed with 220V dishwashers.5. Wash dishes immediately after use. Don't let the crud cake on. By waiting you make the job over 9000 times harder. Don't you wanna do less work.6. Periodically descale your dishwasher. Use CLR or vinegar to remove calcium scale from the spinny sprayers. Best to remove them from the dishwasher and soak them in cleaning solution in the sink. Follow up with a tube brush or dental pick.7. Keep an eye on the dishwasher drain. Some models have built-in disposals so this isn't an issue but cheaper models just catch large food bits with a screen. Don't let that accumulate.I'll update with more tips as I think of them.
