Anyone not really want to voice train? My voice is tied deeply to my identity. It doesn't make me dysphoric. Voice training for me would just be out of fear of being clocked. It's really hard to want to do it.

You do you. The only reason to really do it is if you want to, or if you are scared that your voice will make others view you as lesser.

in my opinion voice passing is like half the battle of passing at all

Problem is, I am worried about this. I just don't know how motivating this will be for me given that I have a pretty hard time doing things I don't actually want to do. I've been on HRT since Jan 2025, and I still haven't done any voice training. Still boymoding too, though (started with a very low dose, only recently started spiro and a normal doseof E).

My internal voice is so neutral in my mind that I don't think about voicetraining until I hear an echo or a recording. Voicetraining feels humiliating and I can't find any guide besides "just do it" or somebody who sounds like Kermit giving advice.

Yeah, I'm with you. I make a lot of silly voices around my wife. No issues whatsoever saying silly, stupid shit in a bunch of different voices. I cannot, for the life of me bring myself to voice train within earshot of her. It feels so embarrassing in a way that nothing else in my transition has.

I think its a useful skill to have in your arsenal, but you should approach it whatever manner makes it easy for you to be consistent with it, but also as low effort of a task to do daily.
Ultimately there are loads of dickheads in the world who won't accept you no matter what you do, and some nice people who will accept you for who you are, voice training or not :3

It's not about you. When normies look at one tranny, they see every tranny. Maybe you can live with the consequences of not fully passing, but can other, more vulnerable members of the trans community live with the consequences of how others' lack of effort will reflect on them?

For me, ever since puberty voice was perhaps one of the things I envied most about girls, so I've gotten pretty obsessive about it. but i realize not everyone cares that much. i think part of it is that I'm kinda a singer and think about my own voice in detail a lot, play it back, etc.
I am probably more of a bitch about it than I should be :(

decade long hrt + transition tranny here. Originally practiced voice early on to help pass better but over a few years in I didn’t feel like it was necessary, and i’ve grown to enjoy a more androgynous and personal voice. Plus i can always just flip into pass voice whenever i want anyway. I’d say only practice if you need to for safety or if you’re dysphoric about it.
