When did you decide to come out as trans to your family/parents? How did it go? If you're still not out what are you waiting for?Personally I'm only a year in hrt and I'm waiting until after ffs to come out
>>44449128i came out to my mom and sister cause it was getting harder to hide and my boyfriend encouraged me. it went really well but also my mom is like this weird kind of catholic and she started crying about how she always knew god gave me a female spirit or whatever.
>>44449128i was forcibly outed by fmaily friends i thought i could trust
>>44449243Ughh I hate when you say something to get it off your chest and the other person makes it about God for some reason>>44449255I'm sorry that happened nona :c people are awful
>>44449128didn't start hrt until we moved away from family, didn't tell them until about a year and a half after starting. for our dad it went fine, he doesn't agree with it but he doesn't really care, still calls me his son, probably just views us as lost or something. our aunt helped us pick a name, and cried because we thought she was the best one to do it, we love her dearly. our grandma basically stopped talking to us.who knows what the rest of our family thinks, our uncle started talking about how he was roommates with a trans person once, our mom was happy about it, but she only reconnected with us after we did, and she didn't really know us very well before we transitioned.thank god we moved, we would've never stopped coping and pretending we were normal if we didn't.
i came out after i got arrested and they told me i should stay closeted so i did then i got on hrt three years later without telling them. they noticed pretty quick though
They always knew, specially my mom, every single time she noticed something "weird" in me she would give me this talk about how her gay friend lived a "normal" life by just being gay, and told me stories about how trans people suffered their entire life, and that if I concealed it, I might even get married and form a family, so she was basically asking me to rep.My father was never present, but when he was I think he felt guilty and would buy me stuff that I liked even if he didn't agree with it.
>>44449451that’s crazy my parents gave impromptu talks to me about how i wasnt gay and also women dont like fruity men so i shouldnt be gay because then j wont attract women to give them grand children
>>44449128i guess im waiting til i can comfortably girlmode but desu unless my tits get too massive to hide i might literally never come out to themnone of them are transphobic or anything i just can't imagine myself ever having that conversation without breaking down crying or running away, even though i know they'll still love mei think my siblings already know im boymoding because they both have trans friends so they would know the signs but mum and dad are still in the dark about it
>>44449468And they wonder why I don't talk to them anymore, sorry nona, that sucks ass.
>>44449128>when did you come out to your parents?first year I started hrt (been on it for 11 years)>How did it goMy loving mother was disgusted and guilted me back in the closet the first two times I tried coming out, and my right wing step father surprisingly tolerated me under the perspective of individual rights (which is ironic since he’s anti-abortion). But over time they both accepted me as their tranny daughter (i’m nb)Currently no contact with the step-father due to trauma unrelated to queer identity, but just typical right wing abusive behavior (physical, verbal abuse and emotional manipulation). I try to keep in contact with mother on occasion but it’s difficult when she’s negligent and shares any info with him that could further put me at risk.
>>44449128came out at 14 and they just didn't care beyond preventing me from starting hrt until adulthood. they never really gave a fuck about me because my younger brother is special needs so they just left me alone and never tried to help me or understand what I was going through. now I'm a lateshit hon and will probably kill myself before 30
>>44449128>When did you decide to come out as trans to your family/parents?Never>How did it go?It didn't>If you're still not out what are you waiting for?Nothing, I cut them off without warning or explanation, and I girlmode now so even in the million to one chance they saw me somewhere they wouldn't recognize me
>>44449128>When did you decide to come out as trans to your family/parents?Never. They just noticed. I was going to tell them maybe a year later. I didn't particularly care what they thought either since I hadn't been living with them for almost 5 years when I started.Mom was very sad at first, dad was skeptical I could pull it off but wasn't upset (and lowkey not even too surprised). In the meantime they both accepted it and I have a good relationship with both them. They came to my wedding too.The rest of the family was/is a lot less accepting but it's not like I care. I don't live for the acceptance of people who don't give a fuck about me anyway.
