looking for machine recommendations. i have about $1000-2000 budget range. The reason I don't go to a salon is because the ones near where i live are notorious for giving trans people a hard time

bump. i can't possibly be the only person here who doesn't go to a salon for hair removal
>>
>>44588058
theres the viqure andd triax4 people like, idk if theyre good though, electro i think people just make themselves somehow
>>
>>44588144
>tria x4
treatment area is way too small. i got one and it crapped out way too soon too. i was only able to remove about one square inch with it
>viqure
did you use the SLD or the 808nm professional
>>
>>44588058
I would say optimally like 4 salon visits to get the chaff and then buy vicurr sd or whatever it's called cause this shit needs like 20 sessions counting maintenance so you will waste a ton of money better to have a good device for maintenance and to finish the job well
>>
>>44588311
i can't go to the salon. i'll end up on the news as "Man forces female salon attendant to provide laser hair removal services even though she was uncomfortable"
>>
>>44588352
Laser techs have seen plenty of horrors already. Just schedule a fuckin consult and stop trying to rough it. It's one thing to DIY because of access issues. It's another to buy a professional laser system because you don't have the backbone to call around to salons.
>>
Then get the sldldld for 500bucks u can get a code from YouTuber google the joint name on YouTube choose a void with promo code and you get 100dollars off

Or get used tria maybe I don't know

Supposedly caps at 20-22 joules per cm2 vs 25 +cooling less painful and faster with the mode that runs automatically I don't know about the latter and has more zaps you can use it on whole body as well depends on how stingy you are has like 1 million zaps the viqure lel wok wise seems betrrr quality of life Jon I say it's more worth then salon but if u in hurry then do first sessions in salon or whole thing
>>
>>44588058
do not waste money on a tria, they aren't powerful enough to do anything
i bought a viqure 300w (the highest-power one they sell), theoretically it should work but i haven't used it long enough to say for sure

you don't happen to be in seattle, do you? i've been thinking about loaning it to other tranners
>>
please anon it's 2026 some seattle puppygirl has made a DIY electrolysis machine

IPL works for me but I’m white
>>

>you don't happen to be in seattle, do you
god i fucking wish. i've heard tell of tranny mecca but i'm in a bathroom bill state. i've been looking for jobs on the west coast for a while but it's hard to get a job when your mailing address isn't in the area. been applying though. i wish i knew someone out there who i could say i live with till i can actually move out there
>>
>>44589019
i'm hapa so my skin isn't that bad but ipl has bad reviews so i haven't tried it yet
>>
>>44588058
I got a used Tria 4x and it's slow and painful to use, but working well enough on my triple-thick facial hair, but I have dark hair and very pale skin.

I did manage to give myself a 2nd degree burn with it..

The treatment area is infuriatingly small though. I'd zap myself on the face like 500 times in a sitting and it takes forever. I think it's much better if you get a session or two to get rid of the bulk and then take your time dealing with whatever's left yourself.

>>44589002
absolutely based
>>
>>44589002
Have you tried this or know of anyone who has?
>>
>>44588058
i was actually gonna make a thread later today asking this question lol
i've heard people say Tria 4x Laser, Ulike Air 10 and Braun Silk Expert Pro 3 are the best options for DIY but im not sure which one to go with
>>
I miss when this board was filled with insane people figuring out how to make their own lazers or ways to perform FFS on themselves
>>
>>44591554
I may try the DIY electrolysis linked here, and will report back if so.
>>
>>44591544
>>44589019
I've been using the Ulike and it's working well on my legs, but not doing much with my chest. Either way, it's pretty slow. Seems like there's some technique to holding it firmly against the skin to improve exposure. Also, it's too bright for doing anything above my jaw. Need something else for face unless I want to blind myself lol.
>>
>>44588058
If laser won't work (such as if you're a redhead like me), I'd recommend a Sterex machine capable of blend electrolysis. I removed much of my beard using one myself with minimal scarring. They're in the $1kish price range, and you can get probes for about $1/each. It took probably a couple hundred hours.

I wish I could get laser on my entire body, but red hair means that won't work. I'm currently experimenting with peptides to turn my hair brown so I can get laser hair removal.
>>
>>44591606
do safety glasses not help with that?
>>
>>44591778
It's genuinely bright enough that if I tried to use it on my cheekbone for beard hair my vision will go bright red. I have pretty dark hair even that high up so idk what to do with that. I've just put it off for now.
>>
>>44589002
this is really possible? first ive heard of it, im lowkey a tourist but idk i need facial hair removal desperately, mine is so thick and grows back in less than a day + i got ultra sensitive skin on my face so even if i shave as carefully as possible my face is littered with dry painful scabs and then the hair grows back in along with them.
it feels so fucking disgusting that if cant lock in, get a job, and start addressing it in the next few months then im genuinely gonna plan to kms. even the slight potential of a cheaper method is hopefuel
>>
Not OP but I'm tempted to buy this. Big investment tho.

>>
>>44588058
Op, all I can tell you for sure is DO NOT waste your time with IPL. It does not work.
>>
>>44592108
not OP but im in a similar situation where i can't access a proper laser clinic from where i live and im desperate to get rid of my facial hair ASAP, even if it's not 100% successful does it at least do something? if even like half of my beard were gone i'd be happy to just tweeze the rest out, i already spend hours trying to do that every few days
>>
>>44592158
My experience with IPL was that it didn't do jack shit. I ended up throwing out the vaunted Braun machine and going to a med spa for proper laser and had instant results.
>>
>>44592158
i had some nasty fucking toe hair and did at home laser before my device took a shit. it took about 3 sessions to get it to half with the tria 4x. i don't recommend the tria 4x because the treatment area is too small to work on the face, and it doesn't work in places that have tight curves. the viqure pro set is best IMO
>>
>>44592175
>viqure pro set
Damn that's some pricey stuff.
>>
>>44592194
cheaper than the salon. if you're in a polycule it's only $30/person lmfaooo
>>
>>44592204
The 100w version is more reasonable. Though there's the worry that it might not be good enough maybe.
>>
>>44591466
>>44592021
I am considering buidling one because I have enough soldering skill but I saw the build log and tried sourcing locally and some parts have to be ordered internationally.
Specifically D-Sub Female Contacts is impossible to source locally, so I might hit their discord (zoemaestra) for help.
There is no electrolysis clinic in my country, I have to take a 1.5 hours flight to the nearest country which has one. that's just unsustainable
>>
>>44592084
>doesn't do Afterpay so i need all the money upfront
FUCK
should i save up for a few months to get this or just get a Ulike Air 10 now even though i mainly want this for facial hair which it's apparently not as good with?
>>
>>44592400
>Ulike Air 10
I can't recommend IPL
>>
>>44592400
probably wouldnt spend so much on something thats less effective but idk there are people who have had good results with it
it is also on alibaba i think for a bit cheaper but not sure how reliable is, i read people saying that its just the same machine though
>>
I am NOT showing my hairy ass to a salon tech I would rather die
