why is it whenever i start feeling good i start noticing that my face is full of wax and clogged pores that need to be immediately emptied until my face is red?

ocd probably i think you need help

not sure if this is good but washing my face twice a day has cut down my skin picking by a ton, i barely have anything to pick at anymore. wipe with alcohol and apply lotion after popping pimples to prevent reinfection. if you have scabs put vaseline over them and then put a bandaid over the vaseline overnight. i shaved a mole off my face 2 days ago and the scab is almost completely gone with no scarring because i kept it moist.

its not actual spots its just oxidised gunk in my pores

those are blackheads and squeezing them makes them worse bc it widens your pores and then they keep refilling
>>
Same but with facial hair, feeling a small one growing makes me extremely anxious so I start plucking every single facial hair out

I'm sorry, you have OCD. you should look into Luvox

buy an oil cleanser, before bed massage it into your face for a few minutes (no water) and focus on areas with blackheads & sebaceous filaments. then rinse off with water, then get a non-oil based cleanser and wash your face again to remove remaining oil. use the non-oil cleanser again in the mornings. make sure to moisturize. serums, toners, or moisturizers with exfoliating ingredients will help. specifically you want something that says bha or salicylic acid.

if you notice your skin drying out, space out exfoliating products to once every other day or even once every three days. then once your skin gets used to it you can use them more frequently. if your skin gets too dry it will produce more sebum, then your pores will clog, then the oil will oxidize and you'll get more blackheads. you'll be washing your face a lot so you'll need to keep it very moisturized. my moisturizer is from aestura and at night i use the cerave night cream (small purple jar.) eucerin also has good exfoliating lotions that aren't too harsh.

tretinoin (or other retinoids) will basically solve 99% of skincare problems but it's very harsh, takes a while for your skin to adjust, and you'll need to be even more moisturized.

oh also you can buy cleansers w/ acids but i don't find that they work very well, personally they just dry out my skin without being able to sit long enough to actually work on my acne.
