Have you noticed any difference between how people treat you as one sex or another? As a woman, I noticed that people in casual chats at work like to tease me with deprecating comments more. I also noticed that I am taken less seriously than before, and that I have to fight and make extra effort so that my ideas at work are even just contemplated. I also noticed people treat me like a child, whereas when I was a guy people just treated me "neutrally". I want to know if my experiences are common to other trans women out there or it's just because of my circumstances. I'm from Spain, by the way.
>>44604499They are treating you like a trans woman, not a cis woman. They think you are mentally ill.
>>44604499male coworkers and random guys my dad's age constantly stare at my huge knockers. this didn't happen before, when i was a man
>>44604499I work at an overwhemingly male workplace by the way, lile 90% men or more, and most are double my age.
>>44604499People are less intimidated to casually talk to me in public. Guys also chilled out with saying random misogynistic things which is appreciated too. I think I'm treated neutrally in a more friendly way and if I show skin I'll get hit on sometimes or stared at. I get loooots of stares in my normal boyish outfits though. Men in trucks doing a full 90 degree head turn at me is hilarious
>>44604499I was dissociating my whole life before I transitioned so I genuinely don't even know how people treated me before. They probably just thought I was a weirdo. Now, I feel that I'm treated like a real human. I have really nice passing interactions with women and I feel that I am treated by them as safe. Men open doors for me and I've been called "sweetheart". They also sometimes get self-conscious about whether they're being condescending to me, or when they're asking me my age. Guys can be crass and physical with each other but they generally become more respectful toward me.
>>44604499I noticed that when guys would open doors for me before transitioning, they would treat it as a very neutral, kind of respectful bro thing to do, but after transitioning they smile at me while doing it and wait longer for me to walk through the doorway. Its a very subtle, but noticeable difference. They also are much more awkward around me, like if they glance in my direction they quickly look around the room and try to avoid the perception that they were starring at a woman, even if it was just a random glance and they weren't trying to look at me.For women, after transitioning they are far more comfortable talking to me, there is like this inherent "girl power" between us now.And one more thing I noticed is that people sometimes giggle when I'm speaking, maybe its because I come off as kind of sweet and endearing now (pre transition I was pretty miserable, so the misery became equal parts sweetness).>I also noticed people treat me like a childI think this has started happening to me to, like people want to help me much more often now.
>>44604499As a man, I've noticed that most men like to talk over me but women will actually let me explain things to them at my job. I'm fairly soft spoken so maybe that has something to do with it. I don't think guys catch onto me being gay.
