Do any other trannies come from hoarder houses? Have any of you managed to escape the hoard?

Did coming from a hoarder home make transitioning easier or harder for you. In my case it made it much easier to get on DIY

I'm going to be living in one until I make enough money to live on my own.
I always thought we were poor growing up but I later realized my parents are just absolutely horrible with money.

Not really a contributing factor in my experience
>>
No, the opposite actually, my parents are obsessed with throwing shit away, I had to hide my "broken" toys because they would just dump it in the trash if my toys were battered, same with old electronics and clothes.

Grew up in one half the time (divorced parents) for maybe 10ish years. Would call it more dysfunctional than hoarding but the outcome is the same.

(Ended up taking my door off cause the floor was covered in so much crap you couldn't open it, then slept on the door cause the bed was the same for example)

Been living on my own for a year or two, so was able to get out but it follows you. It's been a struggle to relearn the basics of being functional/taking care of yourself, even more so in parallel while living everyday life.

Very easy to fall back into those old patterns, and a lot easier to let your space go to shit since your standards (or at least what you've experienced as "acceptable") is set so low.

You are your environment, treat yourself well and the room will reflect that, having a messy space makes it harder to take care of yourself, etc.

I don't think it's made an impact, I was able to get on HRT just fine, although I choose to go DIY for personal reasons.

Same here, shit sucks. Wishing you the best to one day get out of that.

not me but my boyfriend is from a long line of hoarders. his parents are selling a house that belonged to his grandmother and i was helping clean out and move things to his parents' place. it took like four weekends and imo there's shit that could have been thrown away but wasn't, like why would his parents need four different ladders from the garage??? i do wonder if it's some trauma response since they all lived through the warsaw pact invasion and subsequent three decades of occupation. my bf himself isn't as much of a hoarder of them but still is to an extent, i worry about when we buy a place lol the only advantage is that whenever i need something he probably already has it.
