Sex only with one person, while "dating" freely whoever you want anywhere anytime you want.

Is this normal? I'm being told that it's normal, by the person I am sexually exclusive with (supposedly), and I'm not happy about it. I'm not religious or anything it just seems weird. Why would someone want to do that? Am I just too emotionally immature to accept that sex is sex and it's got nothing to do with anything else?

We're both in the LGBT alphabet so it's board related.

im the exact opposite of this lol
>>
>>44610410
huh? they want to date other people but keep you as a fwb for now?
>>
>>44610415
I guess? I'm really confused. I've always thought of "sex with only one person" as meaning we're not even considering other people so this is a mind fuck but I'm being made to feel like I'm the crazy one.

Meaning what?

nah you're allowed to feel however you like about it, being monogamy-brained is not "emotional immaturity" it's actually pretty common and normal
sounds like you and this person are maybe just not compatible

You are allowed to be unhappy about normal things, anon.

i have sex with anyone i want it's really fun so why not

What is meant by "dating"?
How is it different than just going out to have a good time with a friend?
Is it romance? Gifts and signs of affection and exclusivity?
Do you feel emotionally neglected and envious?
Are these things you want to be doing with the other person? Or is it things you dont want to do, and you are wishing they cut it out of their life entirely?

I do this, I stay sexually exclusive with one person because i hate condoms but dont want to get aids or herpes but im semi dating people simultaneously so I can bounce on to another person when i get bored or more likely when the person im fucking annoys me somehow. I tell them that im doing this so I don't feel bad about it and its all consensual or whatever

That's what I'm thinking now, it's unfathomable to me that someone would be like this but they're comparing me to someone they met once who thought going on one date meant they're a couple and I'm feeling like one of us has to be crazy and I'm pretty sure it's them but they seem to think it's me

1. I don't know. We've been on a bunch of lunch/dinner dates but we've also been on overnight trips. We text all day and phone/facetime at least once a day, we're usually the first person we communicate with in the morning and the last at night, and have been doing so for months
2. and 3 seem like the same question? But yes romance and affection and gifts. I thought exclusivity until we had a conversation about it
4. Not generally but then I found out they've been dating other people too and they just assumed it was normal and that was like they dropped a bomb on my head
5. I don't understand the question

>>44612665
That's what I think this is now, just "I don't want AIDS", but they gave me several indications that they were jealous (like when I went to a party by myself) so I felt justified in feeling like they were "mine" in some way.
>>
>>44613144
I also get jealous which is one of the annoyances I was talking about but i don't want to deal with it so I hop to another person
>>
>>44613169
I don't understand, you're saying when you're sexually exclusive with someone you get jealous when they see other people, and this makes you drop them and move on to someone else?
>>
>>44613185
that is correct
>>
>>44613195
That doesn't strike you as a sign that maybe you're going about this all wrong and you should try to lock them down instead of spazzing out and treating them like they were in the wrong for doing the same thing you're doing to them?
>>
>>44613204
no because that is only one of the annoyances that make me lose interest and move on another one will crop up its inevitable and if it doesn't then i get bored and also i like the emotional turbulence and being angry and jealous and also whirlwind romances
>>
>>44610410
That's not normal and the shittiest deal you could get.
