How do we feel about rib remodeling?
>Lower ribs are pretty useless and tend to go back to their original position eventually.
>Ribs 6-12 works decently and generally have low rates of complications, but presents more risk than lower ribs alone, involving life-long pressure on the intestines
>3-12 is done pretty much exclusively by Lief Rogers and is very new, only like 15 people have had it. Involves reducing about an inch worth of cartilage between the sternum and ribs and is held in place by plates. Heals over the course of two years and the plates may have to stay in forever, and the cartilage heals back slightly weaker than before. No long term data and (theoretically) risks causing collapsed or punctured lungs and nonunion. Can reduce the overall volume of the upper torso, bringing breasts together.
Rib remodeling is stuck in my head and I have a lot of FOMO when it comes to not getting it along with my BBL. I'm willing to risk a lot for FFS and SRS, and to be honest, the possibility of reducing the size of my upper body makes me cry with joy, but the risks are just way too horrifying and I don't know if I'm willing to potentially destroy my body over a slightly better figure. What do you guys think?

I used to hate the American healthcare system but now I realize it rewards intelligence and determination. You need to know how to play the game.
>>44642919
Could get clavicle reduction with or before/after it, but I agree. People need to understand how these things work anatomically before they get them. However, increasing your hips can balance out your figure even with wider shoulders.

Do I need rib remodeling to look like a woman? I'm getting a BBL definitely (gotta gain weight first ofc) but the rib demons are whispering to me. I kinda think my torso looks ok, though.
My my underbust is 30 but I usually wear a 34 band. Hips are like 13 inches I think?
>>
>>44642921
I've tried this but insurance has been uncooperative and keeps saying they haven't received the request. I don't think they will cover it but it's worth a shot.

I hope it becomes more widespread and thus more affordable because the technique for the ribs seems really simple.
>>
>>44643012
your ribs don't look like much of a problem to me, certainly not worth such an extreme surgery. your shoulders and lack of hips seem like a much bigger distraction, so I'd stick with the BBL and maybe something to address your shoulders too if they don't start looking better with weight gain. also, maybe give your room a clean while you're at it?
>>
>>44642897
All surgeries that actually work are great and I hope we continue to invent more and better ones up until we finally have full cyber-bodies and can simply leave these moid shells behind entirely.

>>
>>44643084
Hmm, thank you. I wasn't expecting genuine advice on 4chan. I agree, I think my ribs are probably ok. My bildetoid is 16.5 inches, which, being 5'6, is around female average. My lack of hips will be addressed by BBL and my hope is that wider hips will offset the shoulders. I have an eating disorder, so it's hard for me to gain weight, but I'm gonna work on that with my therapist.

How do you get insurance to approve shit? Not even asking about rib remodeling, just cosmetic or gender affirming procedures in general
>>
>>44643135
in that case, the actual structure of your shoulders is likely passing enough and the bone just seems more prominent than it actually is because of your weight. I totally get it about the eating disorder btw, it took me a while to get past that too (started transition at 105lbs, hovering around 120 now and the improvement is noticeable). I'm glad you have a therapist to help you through that, it's definitely going to be worth it. I can't imagine why your mom keeps shoes in the bathroom though, that part I have no advice for...

People who get surgeries through insurance oftentimes either have a really good and high paying job, usually some kind of tech or corporate thing, or are working at Amazon, T Mobile, or Starbucks. Those last three offer BCBS Premera, which is based in Washington state and therefore covers lots of things under gender affirming care. Even stuff that probably shouldn't be insured, like experimental skeletal surgeries, can get covered by this through a little bit of effort and bitching at the insurance. Be aware, though, that BCBS Premera via the marketplace is not the same coverage as you can get through work. It is something they have access to specifically because they are a company giving benefits to employees.
I work at Starbucks and am about to get FFS with Jumaily. I haven't gotten by benefits yet, but I know a couple girls who have and are doing what I'm doing. At Starbucks, you get an advocate who works as a middleman for the insurance and the surgeon's office and is there to make sure you get what you need. They're a golden ticket for all this.
>>44643507
My biacromial is 14.5/15, which is wider than female average, but my build kinda makes up for it. I started HRT two years ago at 120lbs and I last weighed in a few weeks ago at 128. I have orthorexia and while I thought it was gone, I still am very compulsive about my eating and avoid lots of types of food, making it hard to gain weight. For what it's worth, I am never gendered male at my job. Obviously coworkers can't misgender me without breaking the rules, but I work in area in the south full of rich boomers. I'm sure they'd be more critical of me if they clocked me. Not gonna lie, voice carries you. My face is clocky as fuck, but my voice passes perfectly. I think I'd get a lot less of a warm reaction if my body truly didn't pass, though.
Pic related is recent. I don't think it's accurate, though, the positioning of that mirror always makes me look like a freak.

Do I need an official gender dysphoria diagnosis or can I just complain about the body features causing my psychological distress in general without needing to bring up gender identity shit

Is there a guide to this?

>Do I need an official gender dysphoria diagnosis
Yes, generally speaking. At least I think so. You also need a letter following a certain set of guidelines from a mental health professional who says that you need the surgery and it would beneficial for you. For SRS, you need another one from a physician. Fortunately, there are psychologists out there who are basically letter mills, who you can pay to have a single session (or maybe a few, depending on the guy) and they will agree to write your letters.
>Is there a guide to this?
I recommend places like r/transgendersurgeries and various Discord servers like Catkaldir's. The best way to learn the ropes of all this is to interact with the people who have done it themselves.
>>
>>44643400
Sometimes it's as simple as just bothering the provider enough but frankly I have no idea
>>
>>44644235
You can just talk to your mental health doctor, and not be toxic in places.
Women come in all different shapes.
Crazy people, get surgery to look like someone else then realize, they look like the bog twins.
You do more damage in two years then the 2 months of looking different.
>>
i managed to get 7-12 done. after photos are often deceiving bc they just took the corset off, and the ribs bounce back a bit after you stop wearing it (at least for anything but the invasive stuff rogers does with upper ribs).

i had a horrible starting point but it still made a pretty huge difference. took my body from ugly hon to cute twinkhon / semipassoid i would say. no regrets

>>44644287
There's always hope. It is literally as easy as getting a job at your local Starbucks. Get hired and in three months, you'll have surgery. If you don't wanna deal with customers, go move boxes in an Amazon warehouse. Drive an hour to and from work if you have to. Christine Jorgensen in 1952 had to fly all the way to Copenhagen and become a lab rat for a sexologist in order to get HRT and vaginoplasty. If she can do that, you can put the fries in the bag
>>
>>44644299
Does that work in every state or only certain ones?
>>
>>44644309
This isn't what transgenders are about, some American about half of the .06 transgender women population are mentally ill.
Don't think the other half of American transgenders are like this.
>>
>>44644323
Any. Starbucks is based in Washington, and the insurance you get is the Washington equivalent of that plan, and according to Washington state law, they have to cover gender affirming care. BCBS Premera is the one all the trannies go for because it is the most widely accepted and most easily worked with.

Yeah, for real. I wish I'd known about this sooner. I spent nearly two years boymoding thinking I'd have to get a mega high paying job to secure FFS and SRS. I literally wanted to kill myself over my own face. I was told when I was repping that I could get a job at Starbucks but I "didn't wanna be around a bunch of trannies". Ironically, there isn't a single tranny at mine. If I hadn't been such a faggot about it, I could've already had my FFS and on my way to vaginoplasty at this point, but oh well.

>I guess you'd say these surgeries are generally for people with larger, more "male" builds?
i mean, anyone can get it. ive seen people post results on reddit who were already passoids and became model tier cismogging gigapassoids. but i think it is especially helpful and worth it if your ribcage is whats holding you back from bodypassing. it should be kept in mind though that it will look uncanny / bad if your upper ribcage / shoulders are really wide
>>44644257
yeah i would rec Catkaldir's server for info if anyone in this thread is serious about it. i think rogers in particular (who she went to) has gotten a LOT more expensive ever since he went viral though and consequently it will likely be harder to get it covered now thru anything but amazon / tech ppo plans, especially the more invasive experimental upper rib stuff.
>>
>>44642897
i doubt i could survive this with my existing spine fractures and deformity

no doubt messing with ribs would seriously fk with my torso muscle loading and i wouldnt be able to stand or situp anymore; which is already very hard for me most of the time past about 20-30mins; if i just had my pain medicine and im having a good day i can walk thru a store for an hour or so or not be in severe agony after a 30-40min shower

outside of those ideal consitions my endurance is very limiited; when my pain dr pushes on the muscles in mid/lower back it hurts bad and spasms

Is there a way for a gender dysphoria diagnosis to not be visible on your medical file to every doctor or healthcare specialist you visit? Like can you tell a gender clinic to not share that diagnosis with other clinics and offices?

>>44644308
Because there's potentially non gender related reasons to have extreme psychological distress by certain body features? Body dysmorphia, cis men with gyno, etc?

>Is there a way for a gender dysphoria diagnosis to not be visible on your medical file to every doctor or healthcare specialist you visit? Like can you tell a gender clinic to not share that diagnosis with other clinics and offices?
They just give you a letter they don't put anything on your permanent record.
If you submit it to your insurance then they'll have it, i dont know if that'll go back to your regular providers though.

>Because there's potentially non gender related reasons to have extreme psychological distress by certain body features? Body dysmorphia, cis men with gyno, etc?
Surgery isn't indicated (a scientifically supported treatment) for bdd and getting FFS and rib surgery isn't like gyno reduction for cis guys lol.

Do you know what kind of offices/specialists are able to diagnose you and give you this? Would I need to go to a psychologist vs a therapist vs a gender clinic or someplace like Planned Parenthood?

>Surgery isn't indicated (a scientifically supported treatment) for bdd
How could it not be? If someone has a psychological complex over their nose being too big or whatever, no shit getting a nose job would fix it

Looking into this, apparently cis men generally can't get insurance to pay for gyno either? Again, seems dumb

> Do you know what kind of offices/specialists are able to diagnose you and give you this? Would I need to go to a psychologist vs a therapist vs a gender clinic or someplace like Planned Parenthood?
The websites the other anon mentioned is probably fine. If you look up “wpath letter + <your state>” that’s probably enough to get started. You don’t need like a certificate of gender dysphoria, what I did was get a consult w surgeons, then if you decide to go with them, they’ll tell you which procedures/billing code they’re going to submit for. Then you find a licensed provider (therapist or google a local service) then you have a 1 hr zoom call with a psychologist where you go over your medical history, why you want surgery, whether you understand the risks, what kind of results you want, and they’ll write a letter stating you’ve been dysphoric since such and such date and getting such and such procedure would improve your quality of life. You don’t need to go to an MD until later when you want an exam for a health clearance for surgery.

> How could it not be? If someone has a psychological complex over their nose being too big or whatever, no shit getting a nose job would fix it
Health insurance is only going to cover medically approved treatments, surgery is studied and shown to improve gender dysphoria. Bdd is different because iirc it’s more like ocd, getting surgery doesn’t solve the problem because you’re seeing a problem that isn’t there, the treatment for bdd is therapy. Gender dysphoria is qualitatively different from bdd because getting a one and done actually improves QOL afterward whereas bdd ppl will go for surgery again and again and again. And bdd is different from normal cosmetic surgery where you get a procedure to look better, but feeling better abt your appearance is not gender dysphoria where you are mentally damaged from being seen as the opposite sex.

honestly i consider trannysurgery to be separate from cosmetic surgery. being a tranny is like having chronic pain. as honliness decreases, happiness increases. it's not a flight of vanity so much as it is palliative care for the tortured spirit of the tranny trapped within the (rib)cage of the testosterone-poisoned chassis
