I know I'm not the only miserable autistic burnout on /tttt/ so I was wondering if anybody could share recent experiences.Just finished a year of neet shit after a decade of factory engineering. This is my second time crashing out of the workforce. Job prospects aren't bad given my skills and experience, but doing applications makes my stomach churn. I hate smiling for interviews and trying to impress a bunch of obligate parasites with MBAs just so I can go back to the same toxic bullshit. It's not like the career ladder goes very high for autistic trannies, and it's not like I have a family to support. At the same time I'm okay with my life. It's bland and boring, but I'm living longer and happier than I ever expected. Will I know hope again nonnies? Do you have any corporate hopefuel to give? Should I just check out and become a wagie? I've done it in the past, and it's so much of a simpler life...
Just get a husband who does all the shit for you, duh
maybe its because you have job experience but i WISH i could get interviews. applications suck but they suck more when no one even bothers responding. You dhould buy a fun little trinket that usually makes me feel better
>>44682374I tried but I don't trust my ability to select mates. I was with an FTM who work in finance for five years but then he burned out even harder two years before I did and then we broke up.Also I quite taking addys because I felt like stimulants were driving my burnout. I hate the idea that I should start taking them again just to go back to serving capitalism.
>>44682481I haven't bought any nice little things in a while since I'm trying to stretch my savings, so that's not a bad idea. What little things do you like to buy?
I wanna stop believeing in burnout and depression and do that bootstrap thingy with art/music. Am i copeeveryones better than me
>>44682354better than a decade of neetdom like me, at least you're good at something even though your burned out, theres no hopefuel for someone like me.
>>44682544I encourage your artistic dreams. It feels like I've lost my soul and lost my love for making music after years of stimulants and overtime.I tried doing it again during my time off but it's too late for me.
I have a 40/hr a week job and masters im working on and working on certs and honestly I'm pretty damn overwhelmed but constantly feeling that if I don't keep up that I'll never make it and I'll end up homeless or something
>>44682555What does a decade of neetdom even entail? I feel like this is my inevitable fate.Even a long and full career ends in listless years of retirement. My parents are dreading theirs.
>>44682586Im probably kidding myself with my shit track record t. 25, unfinished associates, and i chose english. But i was just pondering what if it’s all free will and autistic burnout is bullshit in philosophy. I dont mean regular burnoutMy mom was so much better than me (phd)
>>44682511uhhhh i bought a laptop and a microphone and a guitar and a little retro mp3 player a sewing machine. could always buy clothes or something too
>>44682701I should buy some nice clothes. I need comfy pants because despite being a neet I've still only worn the same heavy-duty work pants. I have three identical pairs because autism I guess.I actually impulse purchased this PMT the other day thinking I could make something nice of it, but it just made me miss my best friend. He was a PhD astrophysicist until he had a massively debilitating stroke during open heart surgery last year. He's still around, but it's not the same. He forgets who I am. And who he is. And most words. :-(
>>44682806>He was a PhD astrophysicist until he had a massively debilitating stroke during open heart surgery last year.what a shame. Life is awful at times :(
>>44682806I’m so sorry
>>44682806how terrible, i can't even imagine how awful that must be for him :(
>>44682614you can do all kinds of things in retirement, especially when you've saved up resources from a long career. idk take up fishing or something. what can i do as a neet? i dont even have a car.what it entails is sitting inside wanting to do stuff and being unable to do it or not knowing how, so you just do what you're used to and the years evaporate.but fair point i guess, you have to deliberately keep doing things or its easy to end up this way.
>>44682852>>44682827>>44682822Thank you for your condolences and sorry for trauma dumping. I try to spend more time with him and we do jigsaw puzzles together.Tragedy always strikes so close to me. I try to keep going because I've still got life in me unlike some of my friends. I know they'd all want me to keep going.I envy all my friends with families and kids. I wish I could know that joy, connection, fulfillment, and direction even if it is stressful af. Instead I just have autistic tranny brainworms and beautiful princess disorder. Maybe I'll put it together one day, but time passes.
>>44682884Fishing gives me big ick but I do like to talk to my cism friends about it. They're really into it and send me fish pictures which is nice.I want to plan a fishing trip with them but I need to do research first.
>>44682354>grrr i hate being in the middle classyou can just join the proletariat any time you want you know
This is probably more an ADHD then an autism question but I have both, so:How do you all cope with executive dysfunction, task initiation/paralysis, etc? I can literally be stare at a task that will take me less then 5 minutes to do, will be easy to do, is something that's important, is something I actively want to do, and that I will enjoy doing, and that I could even make money from, and I STILL will be unable to bring myself to actually start or finish the damn thing to the point of putting it off for hours, days, weeks, or months, for absolutely no rational reason other then a vague sense of anxiety around doing the task, and the allure of random social media posts to look at and get distracted by instead >>44682614>>44682555>What does a decade of neetdom even entailIn my case, I became a self-taught expert on a niche academic field to the point of being able to do networking with giant Youtubers and the directors of top class national museums related to the subject, but the aforementioned issues I just mentioned, my autism making me misread social shit, and an abusive living situation made it so that I burned bridges with tons of those people and haven't been able to leverage any of that into having a large online following/platform of my own or to pursue a career or education in that field at allIn some ways I am very lucky and privileged to have been able to fuck around and learn and do what I want not just for a decade, but 15 whole years, but in the end I have very little to show for it, and most of the things I really wanted to do I never actually ever finished or completed, with me botching tons of opportunities, that had I taken proper advantage of, could have enabled me to have a 1 in a million career and lifestyleI have a ton of regrets and I feel like all of my 20s were stolen from me due to the shitty abusive living situation and my own mental disabilities, and I feel like it's too late now to do anything with my life as a result
>>44684148https://youtu.be/OQL5DiNVC9o>on a serious note i am like, ill SWEAR to engineer a way to have good habits the next day cuz i swear im still a kid
How are so many trans people autistic?I don't mean, like, why that is the case, I mean how do you all end up passing as the opposite sex despite the autism? I'm autistic and I struggle to "pass" as a normal-ass non autistic man, let alone a womanYou have to learn a whole new set of body language, posture, a new manner of speaking, voice train, etc. How do you all not drive yourselves insane hyper analyzing if you're overdoing things or not leaning into it enough and avoid misreading social situations? And if you don't pass, how do you manage to stay employed BOTH as someone visibly autistic and visibly trans? Even just one of those makes it difficult as fuck to get and stay hired, right?
>>44684148there's no silver bullet but when i procrastinate something i need to do, i try to keep it lodged in my mind and build up the energy. as in, this is going to be a day when i do this soon, i will be outside of the house in an hour. i'll have different clothes on and packed a bag. as long as i can prepare i can avoid the worst of the procrastination.
>>44682496If adderall works for you, take it, you can use it to focus on things you enjoy, not just things you don't want to doYou don't want to turn out like me >>44684148 do you? That's what somebody who needs stimulants but can't get them or their body just doesn't benefit from them (which is what happens in my case: my ADHD meds I've tried so far don't actually help me with my task paralysis, sadly, even if they do for other people)
hibernating with autistic burnout is the absolute most bullshit thing for my mindset and self-expectations. it's my expectations of myself god damnit
