does the feeling that you've wasted your life ever go away. is it possible to make up for all the time that i've thrown away? is it possible to force myself to change?
>>
hijacking the thread to say i ate a burrito earlier and got a bone stuck in my throat and it was really gross and unpleasant so dont go to that restaurant

I did so much stupid stuff when I was young that I came to believe my life had already ended, I feel like I'm living in borrowed time so I just make sure to taste every moment.
Not that I am not miserable, there are so many things I wish I did, but I squandered the chance so it's kinda my fault, can't keep lamenting over that so I just keep going

Yeah I procrastinated on my dreams for 12 years. I'm practically picking up where I left off when I graduated high school. I believe I am destined for something great.

no. i've been to university. i've drawn and painted and played music. i've loved and lost and loved again. i've learned to drive, and lived on my own, and paid taxes. i've trained and dieted and hit PRs. i've travelled far from home.

i never feel like i've done anything and there's lots left to do, but i think i've done quite a lot over the last ten years. i bet you have too if you think about it

do you have a nice time of it? do you just live in the moment or do you have goals? how did you stop lamenting about it and like, live instead?

this makes me feel better, i'm glad you still have a drive, it's probably the most important thing.

Nta but as someone in a similar space: no, it's not nice having to play the game and try and function in a world that's falling apart right when my transition is. My goal right now is just larping as a normie long enough to get a safe place for my nesting partner and I to live. I stopped lamenting it when I realized there will never be a means of going back in my lifetime. Therefore, the only way is forward. The "what-ifs" will always be theoretical. Every action you take stomps out another "what-if." Keep that momentum going and you'll at least find yourself doing adult things again.

yes
i wasted my potential, all of it
I have nothing left to look forwards to but smal pleasures from gaming, food or intimacy(I dont like penetrative sex)

I live a very simple life, it will never amount to anything, still feels like a gift, got here after I saw everything slipping through my fingers, had been trying to grab onto all of it for so long, letting go wasn't easy, but overtime I realized it was the best outcome after trying to build a fake life.

It's a matter of perspective.

The idea that if your life doesn't match a cookie cutter blueprint of success is mostly bullshit sold to you by capitalism but it is helped by hapless innocents with daddy issues.

If you are reading this and you can feel your cynicism muscle ready to fire, who told you that whining was a substitute for an idea?
