Been on hrt for 7 years, told I could pass if I wanted to but have absolutely no understanding of the female experience let alone the male experience to the point that if I even tried I would just be a hollow mockery of a woman.Had a breakdown making an attempt to try the other day cause I couldn’t even choose a purse, learned there’s apparently like a 20 different kinds for different occasions and different brands and they all imply something about your personality and even choosing a color matters a lot because it’s an expensive purchase that you’ll use everyday for the next few years. Seems like something an older female relative would teach you about but I’ve never had any family and haven’t had close female friends since high school. At least I’m a pretty boy and that helps with the dysphoria and I don’t need to think about stressful decisions like that. This is fine.
first of all: having a breakdown because you couldn't choose the right accessoire is the most female experience ever, so congratulationssecond of all: are you too dumb to do your research? go on youtube and watch all of Final Girl Digital and understand how trauma shapes the female experience in society and then contrast and compare your own experiences with that and get your shit togetheryou're a woman you moron, you just suck at it. like many other women do too. go find out why and how instead of whining on 4chan. what are you gonna find here except more self-hate?
>>44795721Purse language is just something you from your female friends and social circle naturally. Maybe you think you don't know anything about it but I'm sure you actually do. When you go out in the world don't you look at what other women are wearing? Then you automatically subconsciously make connections between their personalities and their style.A Valentino purse is way different from a Burberry purse and you know this!
>>44795768Yeah I get it but having to decide on how you want to be judged is more difficult than it sounds I like mugler but their purses are all expensive and gaudyI thought Kate spade was simple and fun and I vaguely remember that being the brand my mother wore when I was a kid but then everyone online was saying it was tacky and outdated nowThen I started looking at sportswear brands like puma and onitsuka tiger but my friend said dressing like a tomboy wouldn’t do me any favors with passingIt’s probably a personal issue of finding self and confidence within but that’s a much harder to tackle problem, which I doubt every woman who’s ever bought a purse has solved
>>44795842I don't know I'm kinda jealous of you.Even though you're 7 years in you still haven't found your style yet, that's like one of the best parts of early transition! You get to explore your femininity and find out what suits you best. Personally I like Marc Jacobs and Strathberry a lot (obviously for different settings haha)
>>44795721desu if you all are talking about it i might as well be utilitarian and take my passed moms'im too backpack-coded though.
>>44795768Not OP but also 7 years on hrt and idk what the hell Valentino or Burberry is much less how it relates to a woman's personality
Get the one that's bright neon pink and shaped like a giant pair of lips. The one with the animal print straps. Yes that one babe.
>>44796264That's okay nona it doesn't really matter that much after all.>>44796272You're very mean haha
>>44795721This is rich people bullshitPull up to kohls with some discount bucks and get a purse you like it's not that complicated
>>44795929It feels like torture to find a personal style when you have no reason to go outside and feel the judging eyes of everyone forcing you to blend in when you do
>>44796361Why would people be judging you?I'm not sure I understand. It could just be that you don't like shopping? For me it's fun to try things on to see if I'd like to wear it out, but I also had like a huge list of outfits in my mind I wasn't allowed to wear back when I was still repressing.
>>44795721None of this shit matters. None of the women in my life know about or care about this bourgeois shit. Nona, being a woman isn't about consumerism. Don't be stupid.
>>44796445I guess it's true that i don't like shopping, I still feel really creepy and out of place in any female settingI do also have a huge list of things I want to wear but it feels impossible to find the exact things I want in my size on top of the fact that I feel like a creep even thinking about it so I've just been wearing the same few pants and t-shirt combos when I go outside for the last few years
Most women don't know shit about fashion either, actually the only ones I've ever met that are obsessed with that are flaming gays with a weird inferiority complex.
>>44795739How is failing at choosing a purse more female than bleeding and shitting kids out of your vagina
>>44796541That's so sad nona, you should be able to wear what you want without feeling like a creep. If you're 7 years of hrt in you should be able to pass easily and work up some confidence :) it's definitely worth it I promise. And remember you're not creepy, you're just a woman just like everyone else in those spaces
>>44796576op literally just needs to pick the one she likes the most and resonates with the most ignoring everything else obviously idk just my opinion
>>44795739>Final Girl Digitalnot OP and I'm too stupid to watch video essays but thanks for recommending that. some interesting articles on her blog
>>44796603Yeah it's sad i'm trying to work up the confidence to get my nails done again, I was so happy when I had it done for the first time a year ago but I also felt incredibly bad about being in that environment and kinda spiraled about it and didn't do it again but I suppose I should force myself to do stuff like that until it's not as scary anymore but it's also so shameful to look like a woman while also not knowing anything about how to be a woman
>>44796856You should definitely go again! But yes I remember when I first started I was so scared about going into dressing rooms and even just shopping in general. You probably pass already so it's just a matter of doing it more to get the confidence you need. If you lived near me I'd go with you
