My stance has always been:

1. "Gender dysphoria" is a bullshit transmed term and people can and should transition for any reason even just on complete impulse

2. If you are not medically transitioning you are not meaningfully trans and should not speak for us

"Gender dysphoria" is the basis by which health insurance agrees to pay for any of this. Without some clinically significant condition requiring this kind of treatment it's no different from getting fake tits or a facelift, and you'll be doing it on your own dime.
Which of course you should absolutely still be allowed to do. It's your life not mine.

When I started hormones I gave it 50/50 odds it'd ruin my life. Everyone should approach it that way. Realistically it's probably 95/5 or 99/1, but if you're thinking "fuck it I'll do it anyway," congratulations, you're probably dysphoric, because why the fuck else would you even consider it?

But I live in a hostile state, so we're constantly dodging political attacks. We can't change gender markers on state IDs anymore, and the feds will transvestigate you for a passport. Similar shit is happening elsewhere.

Multiple times a year I give public testimony and talk one on one with politicians who conceptually hate me because I'm "palatable" enough to get my foot in the door. It's fucking exhausting, and now they're explicitly targeting intersex people too.

Out one side of their mouths they'll amateur diagnose me as intersex because the 4'11 doll whose voice testosterone missed is incomprehensible to them. Out the other they'll sponsor bills saying I should still use the sperm producer's piss trough so nobody gets cooties from my male butt cells or something.

Nationally I have zero access or influence. Zero chance I'd even get five minutes with any of my federal reps.

I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this. I should move, but I'd be miserable living in the one safe state where I have any real support structure. So what the fuck do I do?

When cishet people started adopting "spicy straight" labels (shit like "sapiosexual" and "demisexual" and such) and started calling themselves "queer", they were rightfully ridiculed and excluded by actual lgbt people until most of them gave up.
