>>44822303spanish diaspora here. major cities in spain are actually among the worst places in europe for affordability if you're earning a typical local salary, it's only really cheap for rich foreigners with remote jobs or trust funds. even then it's not really cheap anymore lol madrid and barcelona are basically as expensive as france now for most things. i also think spain being super progressive is a bit of a myth anyway, locals don't really like foreigners much unless you're seen as a tourist and there's a pretty big chance of the next government being right-wing. personally i wouldn't move there if i had other options.
