I was just in western mass yesterday, strange place. Lots of run down old houses but also some rich people and fancy places. Didn't see much too the road to the summit of the highest mountain, got some pictures and came down. There were people hang-gliding. Lots of old people there, it doesn't seem sustainable. There's some colleges in the area to keep it young I suppose but not a whole lot going on other than the Appalachian Trail. The town you are talking about is ~ 60 mi east of pic related, this is the highest mountains in the area, Greenfield is more like on the main highway/valley/strip of towns and is near Northhampton which is like a famous lesbian town and almost near Vermont which is lesbian central other than maybe Oregon.

I'm able-bodied and healthy, so the fact that I choose to continue to wear my mask in shared spaces is "good enough" for me to feel safe and protected, even if other people aren't masking. It's slightly unfortunate society-as-a-whole couldn't do more to keep the changes that helped our most vulnerable people, but I still feel like I'm doing my part by masking even if I don't feel like exhausting myself clawing back against the tide of changing social norms.I will mock anyone that doesn't get the seasonal flu/COVID vaccine and then proceeds to get seriously ill. I’m kinda glad this is blowing up because I know this place, the last queer bar that was in that spot was called 10 Forward and while it was super duper woke it wasn’t this bad, the mob did the same thing to the last owner. And to my favorite bar that was the last full blown gay bar in the area, The Majestic Saloon, people acted like it was some kind of fucking community center and the owner tried to appease the mob and also got dragged and just said “fuck this” and now there’s no explicitly gay bar anymore, good job.
