as a teenager I was slightly repulsed by sex and suspected I might be on the ace spectrum but I always thought “ehh I’m too young to be sure” but now that I’m 18 I’ve been wondering.

my sex repulsion has definitely gone down, I’m fine making explicit jokes but I don’t seek out porn and usually find it gross and like, “overdoing it” I guess. I’m capable of getting horny and used to masturbate several times a week, always before I went to bed just because I could, and my shame towards it has also lessened a lot, but now that I’m in college with a roommate I can’t really do that. however I’m not bothered by that and don’t feel compelled to do it anyway.

when masturbating I always think about other, non existent people having sex, I’m never involved. the thought of myself having sex with someone feels strange and not something I’m interested in.

I’ve had romantic interests before, but I never felt horny about them. however, I’ve also never been in a relationship before and haven’t even kissed anyone. it’s definitely something I want in the future though.

I think if I lost my virginity I might feel a little ashamed about it, especially if it was to someone I wasn’t in a strong romantic relationship with. maybe that points to prudishness over genuine asexuality idk.

maybe if I really liked someone and they wanted to have sex I’d try it, but it seems like a lot of effort? maybe I’d be okay with them doing stuff to me but I’d rather not…directly participate…?

I think this may make a relationship with a non asexual person hard. fwiw I’m already queer (bi girl) so I think dating in that community would create a higher likelihood of people being understanding. has anyone dated a non asexual person as an asexual or the other way around?

purity.
what you have is 'compulsive purity' (its not called that but it is what it is basically).
your mind thinks sex is dirty so it satisfies the craving in other ways.
asexuality in my understanding, doesn't care about sex. You made an Imageboard Post over it.
however most selfidentified Asexuals are similiar.
you could say romantic demisexual or some microlabel like that. But why do you want a label anyways.
You allready know what the label would tell you, its in your post :)
in the end of the day you are a Person, that has a *sexuality* and interacts with said sexuality differently from the pornbrained norm.

I have not dated but i am the same way.

thank you nona I wish you well on your not-repping journey.
I definitely get what you mean about labels being unnecessary, I think with asexuality people like it because it legitimizes their lack of interest in sex as something inherent to them that can’t be fixed/doesn’t need to be fixed. for me if I were to come to the conclusion that I fit the definition of asexual, it’s not really a Label I would Identify with the way I Identify with bisexuality, it’s not something I would feel the need for anyone but me to know about unless it came up such as with a partner or with a friend who says they’re asexual.

so what I wanted to know was, how much of my lack of interest in sex indicates that I truly don’t want to have it vs I only think I don’t because of social stigma. because my family and the place I grew up is pretty liberal and the people around me are not really averse to sex or talking about it.

I'm confused, how are you bi if you're ace?

Ace is a wide spectrum but generally it involves not being attracted to people. If you are attracted to either men or women romantically and sexually you wouldn't qualify as ace. Being horny or masturbating is very common among ace folks as it's not about a lack of sex drive but rather a lack of sexual and/or romantic attraction. Frankly though you don't have to fuck in a relationship regardless of your sexuality if you just don't want to.

Some ace people describe themselves as romantically attracted to people but not sexually attracted to people. Basically they would date but they don't want to fuck.
