Personally I'm one for maintaining friendships with people whom with you previously had feelings for, but not at your own detriment, which is sometimes unfortunately hard to tell when it's the case. People can lead you on and it feels shitty and manipulative when you realize it's happening. But you can also lead yourself on, and it doesn't even feel like you're being manipulated, it simply feels like genuine hope, but in reality, you're just manipulating yourself and your mind to think there's still a chance when there isn't. I know it's painful now, but I hope you can still be friends with him. Hugs can be platonic too u know, and they can sometimes feel just as wonderful. :>
