Both my parents are trans (MTF and FTM) but they were already transitioning in my childhood. I did not know until they told me when I was ~12. They are still married. I'm cis.

I went through a teenage phase of hating trans people and my parents. But I grew up and realized they are above average parents and it's kind of retarded to insist that "my dad is ACTUALLY my mom" or something. If you knew him it would be so intuitively and contextually obvious that it's a "he", and any sort of insistence otherwise is forcing ideology down people's throats. People were naturally calling my parents their gender for decades. Their fucking wedding was taped on VHS and they were addressed as their proper genders there! It's transphobes who insist on a radical language change. Those people who are in denial of trans people are not living in reality. They say "trans women are men" when they mean "ought to be". They confuse what they want to be true for the truth.
