And that's to say nothing of MAPPA's direction, which just keeps improving with each season. If I had to compared it to another battle shonen, I would say Bleach, but I think that comparison is pretty shallow at best. JJK is a few steps above in depth. I think you're missing out on JJK. I really liked season 1, but it is more conventional than the other seasons. I find it funny when people say it's world-building sucks. If anything, I think curses are far more interesting enemies than the hollows in Bleach, the enemies they most resemeble. Gege pulled directly from folklore. It's a very believable setting. Having the enemies be born from human fear and trauma plays into a number of the series themes. When I hear it doesn't have world-building (I've read a number of negative reviews to try and understand where you kids are coming from) it usually boils down to the series not explicitly spelling everything out for the viewer.
