Well, what people are telling you is that the capacity for consent for an 18 year old dating a 30 year old is incredibly deminished. Does that mean 100% of situations where an 18 year old dates a 30 year old are horrific? I am not going to say that. But a 30 year old knowingly persuing an 18 year old is inevitably creepy.

Also, the law also isn't about ethics, it's about control. While that control is sometimes used to legislate ethics, other times it's used to maintain power.

They typically do, but not universally. It's up to each person and their child. Usually, the change is partially up to the child because most parents are more concerned about their children than themselves. From what I've heard, younger children change over quickly, while older children may take longer, but most children eventually start to feel uncomfortable calling the female-passing parent "dad".
