i'm 3 months in diy and getting on my first blood test, but i fucked up and forgot that the day i was intending to get it done lines up with a public holiday when all the labs are closed.
would it be better to do my injection as normal tomorrow then push the test another week, or just delay my injection by one day? are my levels likely to be dramatically different 7 days post-injection vs 8 days?

ok so oversimplifying a little, hormones are considered signalling molecules in your body. by attaching to a one of the thousands of receptors on / in a cell, they tell the cell to perform some function. for example, absorbing glucose from the bloodstream or proliferating.

these receptors have specific shapes, such that only certain molecules can attach to them and produce a response. some molecules fit easily, some fit less easily, some don't fit at all. similarly, of those who do fit, the manner in which they fit determines the magnitude of the response. basically even once you're through the hallway, you still need the right key. some molecules can jam receptors without actually activating them (antagonism), resulting in a weakened signal overall. others produce only a partial activation (partial agonism), while some produce full agonism.

estrogen is a family of molecules and hormones with varying abilities to fit into (affinity) and agonize (efficacy) estrogen receptors, the two main types being ERα and ERβ. phytoestrogens are partial agonists of ERβ with low affinities. meanwhile estradiol is a full agonist of both ERα and ERβ, with 1000-10000x higher affinity, meaning it is much more likely to latch onto the receptor and trigger the cell to behave strongly a certain way.

you would need a far greater dose of phytoestrogens to produce the same receptor occupancy (% of occupied receptors) as a smaller dose of estradiol, and the efficacy would be far lower no matter how much you took. it's not a pure numbers game with activated receptors, and thus there is no dose of phytoestrogens that can produce the same degree of feminization as estradiol.

I overdosed on estrogen ethanate about four months into my hrt regimine (yes I'm a fucking dumbass IK) and had a estradiol blood content level of about 264 pg/mL.

now I read on the old diyhrt wik that there was no good evidence that hondosing in the early stages was effective at encouraging breast growth (https://diyhrt.wiki/transfem) but i found this article today (https://hrtyaku.com/en/breast-development/) suggesting that I may have cooked myself by causing the breast tissue to differentiate prematurely. my doctor told me that i was in an acceptable range however.

did i fuck myself? idk who to believe. any of you nonas have a similar experience?

I went off of my 200mg spiro three months ago and I just don’t know. I got tested last week and my T is still suppressed <10 pg/dl and my orgasms are dry but I just feel… different. And more muscular. I have felt way more suicidal and honestly just wish I could get on Cypro again but it’s so fucking expensive. Could DHT levels be to blame here? Is 5mg E Valerate dosing once per week really enough?

Got my results back a couple of days ago, does it look good? (taken 5 hours before usual time of weekly injection)

My regimen consists of: 4mg EEn weekly, 3-monthly 10.8mg Zoladex implant (test was done at just over 3 months since last implant, had the next implant done an hour after these tests), and 200mg prog 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.

Progesterone: 42 nmol/L (13.2 ng/mL)
LH: < 0.3 U/L

It’s really interesting to me that every time a Hera vial is tested by a lab that purchased it themselves, the concentration comes back basically perfect. Yet whenever a supposedly anonymous customer submits a Hera vial for testing, the concentration is suddenly way off.

There are obvious adversarial incentives at play in this space, and people shouldn’t blindly take these results at face value. There’s very little financial incentive for a seller to intentionally underdose their own vials, but there’s a massive reputational incentive for someone to submit an intentionally adulterated competitor’s product and make them look bad.

At least consider the possibility that some of these results are being manipulated before treating them as definitive evidence. Open your fucking eyes, people.

Starting around July, Transharmduction began sourcing vials for testing, with the testing taking place in August. If you look at Hera’s two test results, both were completed in August.

Transharmduction tested five homebrewers: Mayaa, Sera, Calyx, Aurelia, and Hera.

What stands out is that Hera is suspiciously the only homebrewer who had two separate samples tested.

I know for a fact that the vial samples from the various homebrewers were sourced by Transharmduction through their own methods. However, the May Hera sample was independently submitted by a supposed “customer.” That sample was adulterated and contaminated intentionally.

Hera’s vials have consistently tested correctly, with the only other exception being a sample tested by exogenous.fun, which was also independently submitted by a customer.

To me, this looks like another attempt to damage Hera’s reputation. Someone submitted a deliberately compromised sample, got a negative test result, and used that result to discredit Hera. And unfortunately, it worked.

Competition psyops have been a thing in this scene for months, if not longer than a year. Remember when Tea was constantly complaining on this very board, on hrtgen, and all over Bluesky about how evil the homebrew scene was, and how her competitors were supposedly running character assassination campaigns and making up lies about OGL?

This would just be the next step in the US homebrew market: actually adulterating samples of a competitor’s product. It also wouldn’t be particularly surprising given that several new US sources have cropped up recently.

I think everyone has also forgotten about the recent campaign on Twitter and Reddit where someone fabricated a Janoshik test claiming that Hera vials contained anabolic steroids. Tea even called it out on her Bluesky, and Hera had to address it in a statement on their blog.

There are clearly still people out there who have an incentive to damage Hera’s reputation for their own benefit. Given that people have fabricated claims and run psyops against Hera in the past, it’s entirely expected that they would keep doing it until they eventually succeeded, which it seems they now have.
