>co-worker at job>known for a bit>friendly with>think for longest time us lesbian, short hair, female presenting and lgbt flag>weeks later>see he / him pin>suddenly all the internalized transphobia I have is coming outHow do I stop it when I’m bombarded by trans hate and radicalized by it 24/7?
you said it's internalized. nip it in the bud. at least it's something you have control over, unlike him being transphobic to you, for instance. otherwise, you're no different from any other bigot

>>44963968im the one with transphobic thoughts. i was radicalized by anti-trans hate on internet. seeing a open trans man triggers me.
>>44965799I was like that until I realized I was trans.
so your co-worker is a faketroon? that's not internalized transphobia, that's just a natural reaction to being skinwalked by a gender colonizer
>>44963930How about you just view them as a person first, coworker second, and put identity on the back burner? You don't even have to acknowledge their gender or queerness at all.
>>44967758>How about you just view them as a person first, coworker second, and put identity on the back burner? You don't even have to acknowledge their gender or queerness at all. It's hard for me because they clearly don't pass. They are a women who clearly is not on testosterone, but has short hair and genderqueer presenting. Their name is gender neutral sounding. I'm terrified I'm gonna say something or misgender at one point and lose my job. I have transphobic thoughts always in my mind. I am not closeted, but I don't go around with LGBT flag pin either.
>>44968772you know who's president right? it's going to be a stretch to get fired for misgendering in this climate especially if there is no direct proof of ill intent, a manager's discretion would side with you because realistically what protections are there for unintentional misgendering in the workplace code of conduct unless you work at maybe starbucks with a friendly franchisee owner but thats about it
>ponouns red flag steer clear :\
