Troon regret is starting to hit after 6 years of hrt didn't fix my depression but a couple weeks on lexapro is already helping. For the last several years ive been a severely depressed alcoholic , barely able to keep friends/a job, chronically behind on bills, with no motivation to go out and do anything. basically the same as teenage pretroon me. But after trying meds I'm so much more confident, talkative, and outgoing, though the side effects suck. I dunno, i just feel l may have fucked up trooning out so young after only trying a couple antidepressants as a teen. any other nonas have this happen?

lexapro did nothing for me other than make me dissociate even more, desoxyn and prozac are the only meds that have helped me

Do not mistake the alleviation of depression now as a mistake from before. You can be trans and depressed. The two are not mutually exclusive. You are happy now, so stick with it. I became depressed after my divorce. Did that mean I was wrong about being trans? No. Dysphoria can cause and then aggrivate depression, but depression can continue on in some form or come back later from unrelated reasons after the dysphoria is treated.
