For years I've been stuck in a cycle of body dysmorphia and depression and it feels like no matter how hard I try I just keep going deeper and deeper. I started hrt 6 months ago hoping that it would help alleviate my mind and would allow me to focus on my degree. I've also been exercising, only lower body + running, to try and keep my body healthy. I went to the therapist offered for free at my school, but she did not seem to care at all and effectively just told me to deal with my issues on my own without providing any meaningful insight. Every day I look and see a disgusting abomination in the mirror that is somehow "me". No matter how hard I work to change my appearance, with weightlifting and makeup I still see the same disgusting man staring back at me. I just want this to end. I don't know how I was able to pretend to be normal for so long without falling apart, but I feel like everything will fall apart soon. My grades are falling, my friends and family are more distant, and I've started to cut myself again after not doing so for 4 years. If I can't find a way out of this I don't want to live. If I can't find a way for things to improve soon I might just kill myself.
I know it's hard, but 6 months is nothing. it takes more time, it'll be better eventually
