Nobody has ever mistreated me due to who I am or something I’ve done. It’s always been due to their perception of me due to others. I’ve had coworkers tell me they’d kill me if I ever talked to their children, people harassing me over the mere concept of drag queen story time, people act like they can’t share a bathroom with me because I’m obviously a pervert or I’m diseased.I’ve done nothing to warrant any of that, it’s entirely caused to perverts and bad actors who also happen to fall under the trans umbrella. I think this is why we have a responsibility as trans people to self regulate and police each others actions and call bad actors on their bullshit. Because I’m tired of being treated like shit over something someone else did.
