Hypothetically how would cybernetics/body implants affect troons ? Would there be folks who’re proud they pass without cybernetics and such ?
It's hard to imagine anyone but the wealthy having cybernetics at this point. 30 years ago people were wealthy enough that they could imagine middle class people being able to enter that rat race but now we can only imagine the wealthy there.
>>45118850I want a sick cybernetic arms, with pistons sticking out and shit. It should make little motor noises with every movement too. Hope that will be possible without needing an elon implant
>>45118945get well soon
>>45118945Ordinary people in first world countries won't even afford food in 20 years if things keep going the way they are. More likely we'll get grey death than cyberware
if BCIs advance to the level of a substitute for the human nervous system (sorry Elon but your monkey killing Neuralink isn’t going to cut it) we might have a hope of the transhumanist’s dream… this is about as likely to happen in my lifetime as a global proletariat revolution, but it’s fun to fantasize about being a 5’4” cybernetic girl in three places at once.
God I want them to put metal and chips in my body so badly
>>45119031Neuralink is probably killing more than just monkeys.>>45119068Same, but only if it doesn't allow the elites to read my mind
I think when we eventually do start merging machines with man, the mere aspect of cybernetics and practical transhumanism would be a game changer for many trans people. Cybernetics is all about personal expression, not just functional benefits. Think about it, artificial voice modulators to pitch ur voice to be either high or low pitched without any voice training, synthetic breasts that wouldn't require you to go years on HRT to grow naturals, being able to swap out genitalia that is functional too.It would probably quite revolutionary for a lot of us. Instead of going 5-6 years on E or T, you can just fucking go get ur shit swapped out within a days notice and come out a new person.I like to picture a reality like this happening with like, 40-60 years ig?? It might even be sooner desu if AI becomes sufficiently advanced enough to accelerate human science by decades or even centuries within a short time span at the current rate it's going.
>>45120147None of these other than the swappable genitalia requires anything more than existing surgery. With how much robotics are advancing lately, I wouldn't be surprised if surgery is much cheaper, more accessible and more common 30 years from now. Costs would probably plummet if the skills a surgeon has could just be mass produced in the form of some kind of autodoc. They already exist as human operated right now, all that's still missing is a few more advances in the software
>>45118850Within cyberpunk, in an OUTPATIENT procedure meaning less than a day, you can swap from a male body to a female body. You uh... you can just do that.
>>45120232You probably can't afford that though
>>45120245Single organs or biocopied limbs are 50 eb eacha full body swap could reasonable be sub 1k
>>45120268That doesn't make much sense with how characters talk in game. There's a dialogue you can overhear at lizzies bar where a prostitute is having trouble paying off a ripperdoc for a new face and breast augmentation. Those should be way more straightforward than swapping out full organs. A full body swap is probably out of most peoples price range. Where did you get those numbers from?
>>451203482020's RB, I guess in red it went up a ton
>>45120431They should make this a real thing. Hopefully AI can get us there, I would he a lot less mad about being in the permanent underclass if I can afford body sculpting like that anyway
>>45120486We're due for a singularity type event by the early-mid 2030s according to AI 2027 in their more recent forecast for where AI is headed. In a few years we went from barely tryna get AI to generate moving pictures to AI fully merging different games together, and rogue agents that break containment to hack websites. I shutter to think where we'll by the end of this decade ;w;So uhhh if we do get cyberpunk's transhumanism in the near future, blame the fuckass clankers ig
>>45120560I don't know if I take AI 2027 seriously, their scenario makes a lot of assumptions that are just not based on anything real past like mid 2027. I guess it could happen, allegedly the people at the big labs believe it's going to be accurate. But I don't have any reason to consider it anything more than fanfic at this point. But I agree that shits about to change fundamentally, even without the more outlandish elements of that scenario coming true. Just what already exists now with some performance improvements will make the world unrecognizable by mid 2030s. I find it so absurd when people still pretend like AI is useless and won't amount to anything.Hope I get anything beneficial out of it, so far it mostly looks like its going to kill off my career
>>45119101>>45119031it kills monkeys becuase they do the risky stuff on the monkeys. The humans who have it have not died from it.
