My (19) transphobic cis lesbian older sister (22) keeps sending me videos and images of the Brianna Ghey murder case, but mostly from accounts that are pro tranny
And then irl and in texts, she keeps telling me to stay safe around men because according to her my short height makes it hard to defend myself and that also according to her I could trick someone into killing me because of gay panic
But she never genders me female

similar situation here, my mom offered to buy me pepper spray when i started going out late more, but still never refers to me as her daughter. it's strange how in a way they recognize that we're women, or at least face hardships that women face, but they won't actually admit that's what we are. if i had to guess it's because she sees trooning out as a stupid choice i made, and not something that was necessary for my well-being, so she blames me for any hardships i face because of it. maybe your sister is the same way. i'm sorry she's transphobic nona, even if she seems to care about you in a strange sort of way.
