You can only get that disease if you consume nervous system tissue from someone who already has it. It was isolated to a tribe in Papua New Guinea and it's very likely that the disease is extinct. The tribe stopped practicing cannibalism by around 1960, the disease has an incubation period of about 50 years, and the last confirmed death was in 2009. You do the math.
