I am facing the hard truth that being on HRT is simply not enough to even consider yourself a transgender individual. I would not say I have even attempted to transition despite being on HRT for 4 years now. In that time I have made no attempts to do anything to further feminize myself. It was simply being on estrogen and knowing that there was no testosterone in my body that satisfied the trans thoughts in my head. It's clear now that the way we currently describe transgender individuals is far too general to describe anyone. There is a difference between someone like me who is on hrt recreationally and someone who is on hrt for the purposes of transitioning away from their birth gender. The latter is someone who takes many measures to feminize themselves and doesn't stop at the baseline of having the correct hormones. The former is essentially a trans larper and barely constitutes as a trans person if the only bare minimum effort put in is hrt.
